Woolpert Appoints Susie Henderson as Head of Strategic Growth for Asia-Pacific

Woolpert, a leading architecture, engineering, and geospatial firm, has exciting news that will enhance its strategic endeavors in the Asia-Pacific region. The company has welcomed Susie Henderson as its new Head of Strategic Growth, who will be instrumental in steering the firm’s growth initiatives across this dynamic area.

With a robust career extending over 25 years, Henderson comes to Woolpert with a wealth of experience, having held executive positions in the architecture, engineering, infrastructure, energy, and natural resources sectors. Her global perspective has been shaped through roles in the U.S., Australia, Canada, and the U.K., where she has been pivotal in advancing projects in the AE industry. This extensive background positions Henderson as a key player poised to galvanize Woolpert's reach in the region.

Known for her prowess in fostering organic growth, facilitating mergers and acquisitions, and forging strategic partnerships, Henderson is a recognized leader within the business community. In 2023, she was named one of Houston's Top 50 Most Influential Women Leaders, a testament to her remarkable ability to develop high-impact strategies that yield exceptional results for clients and stakeholders.

Since Woolpert ventured into the Asia-Pacific market in 2021 by acquiring AAM, and expanded its architecture capabilities in 2024 through the acquisition of Greenbox Architecture, the firm has been steadily increasing its footprint in the region. With offices in major cities such as Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur, Woolpert has established itself as a formidable entity in Asia-Pacific's geospatial and architectural services. Henderson's wealth of experience will be crucial in leveraging these established foundations for even greater success.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Henderson stated, "The opportunity to enhance the connectivity of our global offerings, combined with a strong drive for growth, will create outstanding results for our clients and employees. Building on an already exceptional foundation to achieve greater success is truly exciting. Engaging projects, continuous learning, and collaborating with top-tier talent make for a winning formula."

Her split time between the Brisbane office and Houston will enable her to engage deeply with stakeholders across continents. In addition to her responsibilities at Woolpert, she holds an independent board director position with Evolve Power Limited, a renewable energy firm based in Alberta, Canada, where she also chairs the Nominations Committee.

Henderson's academic credentials further bolster her profile. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Central Queensland University and is equipped with CPA and Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) qualifications, enhancing her governance skills to elevate Woolpert’s regional strategy.

Neil Churman, CEO and President of Woolpert, reaffirmed the strength of Henderson's experience, praising her extensive board roles in sectors like ports, rail, mining, and renewable energy. He emphasized that Henderson's strategic and business acumen, paired with her collaborative leadership style, would be pivotal in fueling Woolpert's progress in the Asia-Pacific landscape.

He remarked, "With all our core business sectors—buildings, infrastructure, and geospatial—now represented in the APAC region, we look forward to the collaboration and growth Susie will bring. We are thrilled to bring a global industry leader like Susie to our team."
