NLine Energy Welcomes Katie Bickford as Chief Commercial Officer
Hood River, Oregon – NLine Energy, Inc. has recently appointed Katie Bickford as their Chief Commercial Officer. This move is part of the company's strategy to enhance its global presence and push for expansion in the clean energy sector. NLine is renowned for converting industrial boilers into net-zero power generators, making strides in energy efficiency and sustainability.
Katie Bickford brings with her over two decades of extensive experience in the energy and technology fields. Her impressive portfolio includes driving growth in organizations that have been listed publicly and successfully acquired for over a billion dollars. Notable companies she has worked with include EnerNOC, Acquia, and Starry, Inc. Bickford is not only a seasoned executive but also an entrepreneur, being the principal of Parinama LLC and author of “The Parinama Method Transform Everything – A Practical and Philosophical Guide” (2022).
At NLine Energy, Bickford will focus on engaging collaborations with various sectors that utilize steam in their processes, including universities, hospitals, biopharmaceuticals, and biotechnology firms. Her main objective is to implement cost-saving solutions while maximizing the efficiency of the company’s advanced Microsteam® Turbine (MST) technology, which efficiently generates electricity from steam waste during conventional boiler operations.
Under her direction, NLine aims to facilitate recovery of previously wasted electrical energy, turning it into valuable output. This enhances the resilience of facilities, decreases their exposure to increasing electricity costs, and contributes to overall sustainability. Bickford has expressed optimism, stating, "Our field-tested MST technology is now ready for global deployment, and my proven experience in the clean energy sector will enable impactful innovations."
Matthew Swindle, CEO of NLine Energy, emphasized the significance of Bickford's proven success in accelerating growth within the clean energy domain. Together with key investors such as Mirova, Steyn Group, and Burnt Island Ventures, Bickford is poised to elevate the MST technology's market reach, unlocking potential across various industries worldwide.
Since its inception in 2010, NLine Energy has carved a niche in hydro and steam innovations, achieving significant advancements in energy recovery mechanisms. The MST technology can generate clean power ranging from 50 kW to 500 kW by efficiently capturing and converting waste thermal energy from industrial processes. Its design is adaptable, ensuring optimal steam pressure and flow rates while maintaining low maintenance needs.
“Transforming electricity generation is fundamental to NLine’s mission,” remarked Bickford. “I am excited to spearhead the company’s growth and empower clients to make environmentally conscious decisions.” As NLine prepares to expand, upcoming announcements regarding new roles and projects are anticipated, reflecting the company's sustained demand in the clean energy market.
In addition to its MST technology, NLine is recognized for its leadership in small hydro remediation and assessment, establishing itself as a premier provider in the United States and potentially on a global scale. This dual trajectory allows NLine to deliver comprehensive energy solutions, reinforcing its position as a trusted partner in sustainable energy initiatives.
“The returns for our customers are immense, and as the demand for clean energy solutions grows, we’re positioned uniquely in the market,” added Tom Ferguson, managing partner of Burnt Island Ventures.
Bickford holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Keene State College in New Hampshire and is actively engaged beyond the corporate realm, serving on the advisory council of the Harvard Business Review and mentoring at Babson College’s Summer Venture Program.
