OpenText Corporation, a leading global provider of information management software and services, recently revealed its decision to appoint Ayman Antoun as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective April 20, 2026. This exciting development was announced on January 29, 2026, and marks a significant milestone for the company as it seeks to harness Antoun's extensive expertise in the technology industry.

Ayman Antoun brings over 30 years of valuable experience in the information technology sector, having previously served as the President of IBM Americas. During his time at IBM, he successfully led one of the largest and most complex business units across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, significantly driving advancements in several key areas including cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital modernization.

P. Thomas Jenkins, Chair of the OpenText Board of Directors and Chief Strategy Officer, expressed his excitement for Antoun's appointment, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Ayman to OpenText. Antoun will succeed James McGourlay, the current interim CEO, who will continue to serve as part of the Executive Leadership Team at OpenText. Ayman Antoun's Impressive Background


With a substantial history at IBM, where he held several executive positions over 35 years, Antoun was the President of IBM Americas from 2020 to 2023. His previous roles include serving as the President of IBM Canada and General Manager of Global Technology Services. Antoun's experience also spans the public and private sectors, having held a senior vice president position at Bell Canada, focusing on business market sales from 2013 to 2015. Currently, he serves on the boards of TD Bank and CAE, showcasing his strong leadership and industry connections.

A proud alumnus of the University of Waterloo, holding a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Antoun has also completed executive programs at Harvard Business School focusing on financial analysis, management, and strategic planning.
