SPIRE Academy Celebrates Coach Kevin Boyle's 900 Career Victories
SPIRE Academy proudly celebrates a monumental achievement by its Head Men's National Basketball Coach, Kevin Boyle, who recently marked his 900th career victory. This noteworthy accomplishment not only signifies Boyle’s excellence in coaching but also cements his legacy among the elite high school basketball coaches in the nation.
The milestone victory came during a thrilling match against Link Academy, where SPIRE triumphed with a close score of 60-55 in the quarterfinals of the Nike EYBL Scholastic Conference Tournament. Kevin Boyle’s coaching career is distinguished by numerous accolades, including multiple national championships, over 25 players sent to the NBA Draft, and the development of more than 150 Division I collegiate athletes.
From 2011 to 2025, Boyle led teams at Montverde Academy, which saw unprecedented success, capturing eight high school national championships and aiding in the careers of three No. 1 overall NBA Draft picks: Ben Simmons, Cade Cunningham, and Cooper Flagg. His previous coaching tenure at St. Patrick High School in New Jersey also featured notable athletes, including Kyrie Irving, the No. 1 overall draft pick.
In reflecting on his success, Boyle stated, "Reaching 900 wins is really a reflection of the players, assistants, and families I've had the privilege to work with over the years. The goal has always been development first. Winning is the result of doing things the right way every day. At SPIRE, we have the environment, leadership, and resources to keep building something special for our student-athletes."
Notably, while many state-level coaches may achieve over 1,000 career wins, Boyle’s reputation as one of the most successful national program coaches sets him apart. His teams consistently rank among the best in the country, leading MaxPreps to name him the Coach of the Decade from 2010 to 2020. Furthermore, he ranks among the top five greatest high school coaches of all time across various sports.
SPIRE Academy’s CEO, Steve Sanders, remarked, "This milestone reflects exactly who Kevin Boyle is as a coach and leader. He brings a championship mindset, a relentless commitment to development, and an ability to elevate everyone around him. His impact goes far beyond wins. He is helping shape the next generation of athletes and leaders, and we're proud to have him leading our basketball program at SPIRE."
Since arriving at SPIRE Academy last year, Boyle has helped heighten the school’s national profile, drawing elite prospects and offering expanded opportunities for student-athletes in a top-tier training and academic environment. The academy emphasizes an integrated model that merges elite coaching, flexible academics, high-performance science, and international competition, ensuring athlete development at every level.
For families and athletes eager to learn under Boyle this summer, SPIRE Academy is hosting basketball camps where young players can develop their skills under his guidance. More information on these opportunities can be found at
