Honda Launches New Battery-Powered ProZision Lawn Mowers in the U.S.

Honda Introduces ProZision™ Battery-Powered Lawn Mowers

Honda North Carolina Manufacturing (NCM) has officially started production of its first line of battery-powered zero-turn radius (ZTR) lawn mowers in Swepsonville, North Carolina. The highly anticipated ProZision ZTR series is set to revolutionize the commercial landscaping industry, following a legacy of excellence in outdoor power equipment that began over 40 years ago.

The new ProZision mowers, which are engineered for commercial use, will feature both 54-inch and 60-inch models. They are equipped with five 48-volt brushless electric motors designed for durability and efficiency. By utilizing high-quality parts sourced both domestically and globally, Honda aims to provide a reliable and emission-free solution for landscaping professionals.

According to Lynne Hedrick, Site Lead at NCM, the unveiling of these mowers reflects Honda's ongoing commitment to innovation in power equipment: "Everyone at Honda North Carolina Manufacturing is excited about expanding our power equipment lineup with the introduction of the new Honda ProZision ZTR lawn mower." This passion for quality and versatility stems from a tradition established when Honda first began lawn mower production in 1984.

With this latest venture, Honda signifies its commitment to merging advanced technology with environmental consciousness. Mark Kohls, Vice President of Honda Power Sports Products at American Honda, notes that the ProZision Zero-Turn Radius mowers are a testament to Honda's dedication to providing efficient turf care solutions. Kohls stated: "Our battery-powered Honda ProZision Zero-Turn Radius lawn mowers deliver zero emission, cost-effective turf care solutions for a wide variety of customers, conditions, and commercial applications."

Honda’s innovative approach includes the establishment of a new plastic manufacturing department at the NCM facility, part of a $9.7 million investment, allowing for even more local production and job creation. This additional capability enhances Honda's overall operational efficiency and product quality.

The history of Honda NCM is remarkable, having produced over 50 million products ranging from lawn mowers to ATVs and various outdoor equipment. The sprawling 700,000-square-foot facility currently employs over 500 individuals and underscores the company’s substantial investment—totaling $400 million—in the local economy.

With an eye toward sustainability, Honda continues to innovate within the sphere of outdoor power equipment. The ProZision ZTR mowers stand as a symbol of Honda's forward-thinking approach, blending environmental responsibility with high performance needed for today’s commercial landscaping.

As production ramps up, consumers can expect to see the ProZision ZTR mowers available at specialty equipment dealers beginning in February 2026. The product line represents Honda's evolution and responsiveness to market needs, ensuring they remain a leader in the lawn care and outdoor power equipment industry.

In conclusion, Honda’s launch of the new battery-powered ProZision ZTR mowers is not just a milestone for the company but a significant advancement in sustainable landscaping technology that promises to benefit both consumers and the environment alike.
