Panasonic Introduces New Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras and Lens
Panasonic has officially announced the addition of two new models to its acclaimed LUMIX S Series: the
LUMIX S1II and
LUMIX S1IIE. Designed with cutting-edge technology, these cameras aim to redefine photographic and videographic excellence, showcasing superb image quality, vibrant color reproduction, and groundbreaking advancements in video recording capabilities.
Enhancing Image Quality and Performance
The
LUMIX S1II features a newly developed
24.1MP full-frame partially stacked CMOS sensor paired with an advanced-generation Venus Engine. This combination offers faster readout speeds and improved processing efficiency, allowing users to record high frame rates in 4K120p and 5.8K 60p formats. Photographers can also benefit from the
Dynamic Range Boost mode, which provides up to
15 stops of dynamic range in V-Log format at frame rates below 30p, capturing intricate details in both shadow and highlight areas.
With the capability of high-speed continuous shooting, the S1II can capture up to
70 frames per second, enabling photographers to seize fleeting moments with remarkable clarity. Additionally, the
Open Gate feature has been enhanced to support more formats beyond its previous 6K30p limitation, thus facilitating greater creative flexibility for videographers.
Design and Ergonomics of the S1IIE
On the other hand, the
LUMIX S1IIE maintains the iconic design ethos of its predecessors, the S1II and S1RII, making it an excellent choice for creators seeking both utility and visual appeal. This model is outfitted with a
24.2MP sensor, inspired by the popular S5II, providing superior image quality across various shooting environments. The S1IIE also incorporates a
new Cinemascope video format, allowing recording in 2.41 aspect ratio with frame rates up to 60p, delivering cinematic results without cropping the image.
Both models are crafted to empower creators, bringing features and enhancements that encourage personal expression and innovative storytelling.
The New LUMIX S 24-60mm F2.8 Lens
Alongside the new cameras, Panasonic is unveiling the
LUMIX S 24-60mm F2.8 lens. This versatile lens is designed with a constant F2.8 aperture throughout its zoom range, making it ideal for various photography styles from landscape shots at 24mm to beautiful portraits at 60mm. The lens is optimized for portability, weighing only 544g and measuring approximately 99.9mm in length, which enhances mobility during shooting sessions.
One of the standout features is the
Hybrid Zoom capability, which extends the zoom range to
187mm for both photos and videos, providing users with greater flexibility without compromising on quality. The
Dual Phase Linear Motor integrated into the lens ensures fast and precise autofocus, while the introduction of focus button and control ring assignment enhances shooting intuitiveness and creativity.
Enhanced Video Functionality
The lens shines in video production as well, with advanced designs that minimize focus breathing and allow for smooth aperture transitions during high-contrast scenes. This unique combination of features sets it apart as a must-have for those engaged in professional and creative videography.
