Subaru Provides Lifesaver Cars to Support Water Safety Initiatives
Tokyo Subaru Corporation has once again demonstrated its commitment to community safety by supplying two lifesaver cars to the Japan Lifesaving Association (JLA) and the Tokyo Lifesaving Association for the year 2026. This initiative is part of a broader shared goal of achieving 'zero water accidents' in the summer months.
On July 2, 2026, a handover ceremony was held at the Tokyo Subaru Hongō Store, coinciding with a managerial conference where the ongoing activities of the JLA and the significance of the Subaru lifesaver cars were discussed. This collaboration emphasizes the importance of proactive measures for waterfront safety.
In preparation for this event, a CPR and AED training session was conducted on June 28 for newly hired employees of Tokyo Subaru. This program, initiated four years ago, aims to equip new team members with the skills necessary to respond swiftly and effectively in cases of cardiac arrest, ensuring they can provide life-saving support at their respective stores.
What Are Subaru Lifesaver Cars?
The Subaru lifesaver cars were introduced in 2020 as a vehicle designed to assist lifesavers in their surveillance and rescue operations along waterfronts. Subaru aligned itself with the vision of the JLA to eliminate water-related accidents by providing these specialized vehicles. Today, Subaru proudly stands as the official partner of JLA and continues to promote the 'One Life Project', focusing on water safety.
These lifesaver vehicles are easily recognizable due to their distinctive designs, making them visible to the public and effectively communicating the lifesavers' presence. They are suited to transport various rescue equipment and items, which plays a crucial role in supporting safety monitoring and educational activities related to water safety.
A Continued Partnership for Safety
This partnership between Subaru and JLA has now entered its seventh year, with a cumulative total exceeding 200 lifesaver cars provided. Notably, Subaru's commitment extends beyond simply offering vehicles; they actively collaborate with local dealerships to further enhance safety efforts. Nationwide branches work together with local lifesaving associations to sponsor workshops that teach CPR and AED techniques, thereby broadening the scope of their community initiatives.
'One Life Project'
Through the 'One Life Project', Subaru not only delivers lifesaver cars but also cultivates a culture of safety within communities.
The Japan Lifesaving Association is a public foundation committed to enhancing safety and environmental preservation across various water venues, including beaches and pools. Their mission is to ensure that the public can enjoy these environments safely and comfortably.
