Prudential Group's Commitment to Community Welfare
This year, on the occasion of International Volunteer Day, the Prudential Group in Japan mobilized over
11,000 employees and their families to participate in more than
540 volunteering activities. The event underscores the company’s commitment not only to providing security and peace of mind through its business operations but also to actively contributing to the communities where it operates.
Established in
1995, International Volunteer Day serves as a platform for the Prudential Group in Japan to engage in ongoing volunteer efforts, fostering a deeper understanding of local communities. The Group encourages participation from its employees each year, and this time was no different as they took part in initiatives including tree planting for forest conservation, community cleanup efforts, and the collection of stamps and bell marks.
Highlighting the spirit of teamwork and charity, the Prudential Group also organized the
One Rock Walk & Run event. This event combined health consciousness with charity, allowing employees to run or walk for a cause. Designed by volunteer staff members and supported by the company, the event generated considerable interest, with around
2,000 employees and their families taking part over the course of a month. Together, they achieved an impressive distance of approximately
329,000 kilometers.
The company's matching donation scheme significantly amplified their charitable impact. For every kilometer walked or run, Prudential matched employee contributions, leading to a total donation amount of around
4.58 million yen. This collective effort will benefit three esteemed organizations: the certified NPO J.POSH (Japan Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon Movement), the Japan Para Sports Association, and the World Wildlife Fund Japan (WWF Japan), supporting various causes from health advocacy to environmental protection.
The Prudential Group continues to be guided by the founding principles of Prudential Financial, which emphasizes the importance of compassion and familial love within society. Moving forward, they remain dedicated to engaging in volunteer activities that truly make a difference, actively working as a committed member of the community.
In summary, Prudential Group’s enduring mission is to embody the timeless principles of humanity and community well-being. By championing initiatives like International Volunteer Day, they reinforce their commitment to social responsibility and active citizenship, creating lasting positive change in the communities they serve.
