Boviet Solar's Ambitious Manufacturing Plans in North Carolina
Boviet Solar Technology Co. Ltd., recognized as a leader in solar energy technology, is making significant strides with its upcoming manufacturing site in Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. This state-of-the-art facility underscores Boviet Solar's commitment to enhancing the renewable energy landscape in the United States, especially as it targets ramped-up production of its renowned PV modules by mid-2025.
Investment and Infrastructure Achievements
With over a $294 million investment earmarked for the Greenville site, Boviet Solar has already successfully positioned more than half of its required manufacturing equipment. The factory is equipped to produce the esteemed Gamma Series™ Monofacial and Vega Series™ Bifacial PV modules, utilizing advanced N-Type solar cell technology. This substantial investment not only aims to produce 2.0 GW of solar panels annually but also promises to bolster the local economy by generating approximately 908 skilled jobs in the region once fully operational.
Phase One: Module Manufacturing
The initial phase of the project will focus on module manufacturing. As per the company's timeline, mass production is set for the first half of 2025, with all necessary equipment positioned by the end of January. Following this, the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing is scheduled for February, marking a significant milestone in Boviet's expansion efforts in North America.
Phase Two: High-Efficiency Solar Cells
Not resting on its laurels, Boviet Solar is progressing to the second phase of the project. Completing land clearing and stump removal by December 2024, the company will commence mass grading this January 2025. This phase will introduce production capabilities for high-efficiency solar cells, set to kick off in the first half of 2026 and further solidify the facility's status in the industry.
