Clou Unveils Innovative Energy Storage Solutions at Solar & Storage Live UK 2025

Clou's Innovative Showcase at Solar & Storage Live UK 2025

On September 25, 2025, Clou Electronics Co., Ltd., a leading provider of energy storage systems recognized by BloombergNEF (BNEF), made its European debut at the Solar & Storage Live UK 2025 event held in Birmingham. The company unveiled its next-generation liquid-cooled energy storage system, the Aqua-C3.0 Pro, alongside various advanced integrated energy storage solutions aimed at large-scale commercial and industrial applications.

The Growing UK Energy Storage Market

The UK energy storage sector is experiencing robust growth, thanks to clear policy frameworks, established electricity market mechanisms, and diversified revenue streams. While large-scale utility projects continue to expand, there is a rapid rise in demand for energy storage in the commercial and industrial sectors. Addressing the local market's burgeoning needs, Clou presented the Aqua-C3.0 Pro, equipped with a massive ultra-capacity cell exceeding 600 Ah and able to store 6.88 MWh in a single cabinet. This solution marks a significant leap in operational efficiency, safety, and maintenance convenience, achieving a total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction of 10.63%.

Key Features of Aqua-C3.0 Pro

Clou's Aqua-C3.0 Pro is an upgraded version of its predecessor, the Aqua-C2.5, boasting several technological advancements. By employing direct cooling technology that supplies refrigerant directly to the cells, paired with patented Smart Scales balancing technology and SiC String PCS, the system offers a remarkable round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 92.3%. This innovation enhances total energy output over its lifetime by 4%.

Safety is paramount in Clou's design, as the CTR architecture separates thermal and electrical pathways, allowing for directional ventilation. Developed in collaboration with the Midea Group's Corporate Research Center, the new active explosion-proof ventilation system, ThermoFlux 2.0, provides comprehensive safety through early warning systems, fire suppression, explosion protection, and ventilation. This combination ensures operational safety and business efficiency.

For operational ease, the use of a standard 20-foot container facilitates transportation. The CTR architecture features fewer components and interfaces, while the self-sufficient auxiliary system simplifies wiring at the station. The innovative Smart Scales technology enables remote operations and maintenance, significantly reducing the need for manual maintenance and streamlining implementation, ultimately optimizing overall operational costs.

A Comprehensive Range of Energy Solutions

In addition to launching the Aqua-C3.0 Pro, Clou showcased a wider portfolio, including the Aqua-C2.5, the CI Aqua-E233 energy storage system, and Clou EMS, addressing diverse applications from the power grid to the CI sector. With nearly 30 years of extensive experience in the electric power industry, Clou continues to offer highly compatible system solutions and actively contributes to the development of the UK energy storage market.

Since its global expansion in 2018, Clou has established a significant footprint in the US market, executing several large-scale projects, such as the first large-scale lithium-ion energy storage project in Indiana (110.2 MWh), the largest energy storage power plant in Mississippi (765 MWh), the highest regulatory compliance project in California (270 MWh), and the integrated photovoltaic and energy storage project in South America, which stands at 485 MWh. The expertise gained in the Americas will further enhance Clou's participation in the European energy transition.

Clou aims to integrate its products and solutions into local electrical markets and energy ecosystems, supported by synergistic local teams, technologies, and service provider networks to ensure prompt operational and maintenance responses.
