METoA Ginza to Host a Last Event: Rediscovering the Everyday

From April 18 to August 4, 2025, METoA Ginza, located in the heart of Tokyo, will host its final event, titled "Rediscovering and Discovering the Everyday: Everyday!?! Exhibition." As the facility prepares to close its doors, this event aims to provide an exciting interaction with a wide array of Mitsubishi Electric's products and solutions, highlighting sustainable living and envisioning a futuristic perspective on mundanity.

The exhibition promises immersive experiences, including the chance to virtually travel through space alongside Japan's first cargo spacecraft, HTV (Kounotori), as it docks with the International Space Station (ISS). This experience, alongside thematic content focusing on the “extraordinary” aspects behind everyday products like smartphones and air conditioners, is set to allow visitors to connect with technology in a fun, engaging way.

Background of the Event

Promoted under the slogan, "Exciting Sustainability Starts Here," METoA Ginza has served as an interactive hub since its inauguration in March 2016. The space has drawn in over six million visitors who explore Mitsubishi Electric’s solutions while learning about sustainability efforts through various events.

As it transitions towards the future, METoA Ginza will continue to reach out to a broader audience through collaborations with different organizations and businesses across Japan. In the spirit of gratitude, this final exhibition will gather the most popular showcased works and provide a unique experience reflecting on the technologies that underpin our everyday lives.

In an exhibition showcasing laser processing technology, attendees can observe intricate artworks created using precision lasers with openings smaller than 0.1mm. These detailed miniatures represent the complexity required in the design of smartphones, emphasizing the rapid, efficient laser processing capabilities that have made compact gadgetry possible.

The Wonders of Air Conditioners

An engaging display will educate visitors about room air conditioners, explaining the technological advancements that have enabled the continuous evolution of efficient air cooling. Attendees can interact with a feature that showcases how the wind flow varies based on user input, allowing them to enjoy fun, animated visuals featuring hearts and flowers responding to air currents.
