Kousoku Offset's New Sustainable Printing Service
In a significant step toward sustainability, Kousoku Offset, headquartered in Osaka, has announced the launch of its new printing service for
Kome-Kami Ukiyo-e White. This initiative is part of their broader project,
KAMIKEN, aimed at promoting the use of sustainable papers. The new product expands the existing range of Kome-Kami papers, which have already gained popularity among designers and printing professionals.
What is Kome-Kami?
Kome-Kami, or rice paper, is created by mixing the pulp from discarded rice. This innovative process not only helps reduce waste but also contributes to social causes, as 1% of the sales from these papers is donated to food banks. Kome-Kami papers offer unique textures and high printing quality, making them a favorite choice for business cards, shop cards, packaging, and sustainable promotional goods.
Introduction of Ukiyo-e White
With the introduction of
Kome-Kami Ukiyo-e White, Kousoku Offset aims to offer a visually stunning paper option that complements the existing
Kome-Kami Natural line. The Ukiyo-e White boasts a radiant white finish that stands out, enhancing the visual impact of printed materials. In September 2024, Kousoku Offset conducted a testing session for the Ukiyo-e White using both sheet-fed and on-demand printing machines, effectively paving the way for the official launch of the printing service.
Free Sample Mailing Service
To encourage potential customers to explore these eco-friendly materials, Kousoku Offset has also introduced a free mailing service for printing samples. This initiative includes various Kome-Kami paper types, enabling businesses to experience the distinct qualities of each option firsthand. Each set comprises:
- - Kome-Kami Natural (A3, 93.5kg)
- - Kome-Kami Natural (A4, 273kg)
- - Kome-Kami Ukiyo-e White (A4, 215.5kg)
- - Kome-Kami Ukiyo-e White (A4, 290.5kg)
Recipients will receive a random selection of designs to evaluate, allowing businesses to find the right paper for their needs while also serving as usable postcards.
Expanding SDGs Paper Samples
In conjunction with the launch, Kousoku Offset is expanding its
SDGs Paper Sample Book, now including the Ukiyo-e White paper. This resource is designed for companies considering sustainable printing options, featuring 15 different paper types along with the logos that can be printed on each. It serves as a guide for those unsure of which sustainable paper to select for their projects.
