Xiao-I Corporation Shares Update on Patent Case Against Apple and Plans Appeal

Xiao-I Corporation Updates on Patent Litigation Against Apple

Xiao-I Corporation, a key player in the artificial intelligence space, has recently provided an important update regarding ongoing litigation with Apple Inc. The case, which involves significant intellectual property claims, has been unfolding in the Shanghai High People's Court.

On June 10, 2026, the court issued preliminary judgments in two cases related to patent infringement. The first case involved accusations from Xiao-I's variable interest entity, Shanghai Xiao-I Intelligent Network Technology Co., Ltd., claiming that Apple's popular technology, Siri, infringed upon its patented innovation titled "A Chat Robot System." Unfortunately for Xiao-I, the court dismissed all claims regarding this intellectual property.

In a second parallel case, the court ruled that certain iPhone models equipped with Siri do not infringe on the patent claims made by Xiao-I. Moreover, the court also found in favor of Apple on a counterclaim, declining to award the company RMB 2 million for litigation expenses which included attorney fees, translation costs, and notarization fees.

These first-instance judgments come on the heels of a ruling from the Supreme People's Court of China issued on March 31, 2026, which upheld the validity of Xiao-I's patent. This ruling confirmed that the patent in question remains valid and cannot be deemed invalid, but it does not prevent the court from deciding whether Apple's products infringe upon the patent's scope.

Xiao-I has expressed disappointment with the recent court rulings, articulating a strong disagreement with the legal and factual interpretations embedded within the judgments. The company is resolute in its belief that it has substantial grounds to appeal. As such, they are preparing to formally lodge appeals with the Supreme People's Court within the designated time frame. This step is crucial for Xiao-I, as it aims to fiercely defend its intellectual property rights in accordance with the law.

While the company holds confidence in the merits of its case, it is acutely aware of the uncertainties that come with appellate proceedings. There is no assurance regarding whether the appeal will yield financial reparations or a favorable ruling. Given these factors, Xiao-I has encouraged investors to undertake diligent research and review any pertinent information before making investment-related decisions.

As the situation develops, Xiao-I Corporation has committed to keeping its shareholders and the public promptly informed about any significant changes or developments regarding this litigation.
