Kohei Sasaki Shines with Bronze Medals at 2025 Japanese Swimming Championships

Kohei Sasaki's Incredible Achievement at the 101st Japanese Swimming Championships

In an impressive display of skill and resilience, Kohei Sasaki, an athlete affiliated with Beads International, participated in the 101st Japanese Swimming Championships, which also served as a selection event for international competitions. Held from August 29 to August 31, 2025, at Nikan Arena Tochigi in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Sasaki competed fiercely in three events: the men's 1m springboard, the men's synchronized 3m springboard, and the men's 3m springboard.

Sasaki achieved remarkable success by securing bronze medals in both the men's 1m springboard and the men's synchronized 3m springboard events. He finished in 3rd place in each of these categories, showcasing his exceptional diving talent among Japan's elite competitors. However, the competition was not without its difficulties; Kohei noted some mistakes throughout the tournament but managed to rise above the challenges and reach the podium in two events.

In his own words, Sasaki reflected, "I participated in 1m springboard, 3m springboard, and 3m synchronized events. This tournament was tough, with noticeable mistakes, particularly in the early stages. Nevertheless, I am grateful to have ended up on the podium in the 1m springboard and 3m synchronized events. A big thank you to all my supporters who have been cheering me on; I will continue to strive for excellent results in the future!" This perseverance highlights the dedication and commitment that defines Sasaki as both an athlete and a representative of Beads International.

Kohei Sasaki: A Brief Profile

Born on January 28, 1999, in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, Kohei Sasaki began diving at the age of five, inspired by his older brother. His first significant achievement came during elementary school when he participated in a national competition. His ambition to become a professional diver intensified, cementing his pursuit of excellence in the sport.

Despite the setbacks, including two serious injuries—a left patellar fracture in middle school and a right patellar fracture in high school—Sasaki triumphed through extensive rehabilitation and training. While enrolled at Nippon Sport Science University, he secured a bronze medal in the men's 3m springboard at the 2020 Japanese Championships. He further enhanced his credentials by winning the men's synchronized 3m springboard event in 2024.
