Celebrating 20 Years of Friendship
Longchamp, the vibrant Maison brand founded in Paris in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, is set to unveil a new collection titled "Greetings from New York" on May 28, 2026. This launch commemorates the twenty-year friendship between Longchamp and renowned American designer Jeremy Scott, coinciding with a special exhibition at the flagship store 'La Maison Unique' in Soho, New York, as part of the Colbert Committee's retrospective titled "Hidden Treasures."
The "Hidden Treasures" exhibition celebrates the 250th anniversary of America's founding and showcases the creative bond between French and American cultures across the Atlantic through a series of intriguing wooden transport crates. This interactive space features 68 esteemed French Maisons, symbolizing their connection to the United States through exclusive, rare pieces that stimulate the viewer's curiosity. Among the highlights is Longchamp's collaboration with Jeremy Scott, originally launched in 2014 for the flagship store opening on the Champs-Élysées, which includes the travel bag "Greetings from Paris."
The friendship between Longchamp and Jeremy Scott began in 2006, marking the opening of the flagship store in the heart of Soho with a limited luggage collection titled "This Is Not Your Bag." Captivated by Jeremy's bold and whimsical designs, which exude both playfulness and sophistication, Longchamp recognized a shared commitment to quality craftsmanship and the joyous spirit of life, leading to a series of collaborations that reimagined the iconic 'Le Pliage' bag.
Over the past two decades, more than 25 unique designs have graced the market, transforming 'Le Pliage' into a versatile canvas of humor and pop culture. The collaboration has yielded highly sought-after collector's items, adored by celebrities such as Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Elle Fanning, Rita Ora, and Miley Cyrus. With unwavering passion for fashion and a strong bond with Jeremy, Longchamp proudly celebrates this remarkable creative friendship.
In response to the Colbert Committee’s "Hidden Treasures" exhibition, the flagship store 'La Maison Unique' immerses visitors in Jeremy's design universe through the "Jeremy Scott Retrospective" exhibition. This showcase presents iconic collaborative bags, inspired by the themes of travel and vintage postcards, including the 'Greetings from' series (Paris, Hollywood, and Paradise). Adorning the facade is an impressive decoration featuring a print of Jeremy's first design, "Telephone," set against a lively turquoise background.
The new piece “Greetings from New York” pays tribute to the vibrant metropolis itself. The travel bag features a design that exhibits Manhattan's skyline, reminiscent of a snapshot taken on a journey, representing a dazzling homage to New York City. The reverse side carries a handwritten postcard-like design, complete with a playful message: “Wish you were here! Love, Jeremy.”
The launch party was a star-studded affair, attended by Zoe Dutch, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kate Mara, Emma Roberts, Rhodas Maria Chicone Leon, Coco Rocha, Ashley Benson, Joan Smalls, and Martha Hunt, among others. Guests were treated to a surprise reveal of the new bag via drone and enjoyed the musical talents of the New York-based DJ duo, The Misshapes.
