Pulte Family Charitable Foundation Launches Award for Nonprofits Supporting Vulnerable Communities

The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, based in Boca Raton, Florida, has recently unveiled a new philanthropic initiative known as the "Inspired By Their Stories Award." This award aims to honor nonprofit organizations that dedicate their efforts to support and uplift society's most vulnerable members. The initiative is rooted in the foundation's mission to create meaningful narratives and highlight the impactful work being done across the nation.

In a statement released on January 26, 2026, the foundation emphasized that the award supports organizations involved in four key areas of human need: Care for Others, Education, Hunger and Thirst, and Shelter. Each category signifies critical facets of community support and development, providing a structured way for nonprofits to demonstrate their commitment and contributions to society.

Organizations can nominate themselves for the award in only one of the specified categories, which include:
1. Care for Others: This area covers various aspects of health and wellness, addressing mental health, behavioral health, physical health, and services targeting people with disabilities, veterans, and youth.
2. Education: This category encompasses all levels of education from K-12 systems to afterschool programs, colleges, and vocational training, recognizing the vital role education plays in enhancing lives.
3. Hunger and Thirst: Nonprofits focused on food security and access to clean drinking water will find their efforts acknowledged in this category, aiming to combat hunger and promote healthy living.
4. Shelter: Organizations that provide housing solutions and services for vulnerable populations are invited to showcase their work in this critical area, which plays a fundamental role in ensuring safety and stability for many.

The award process begins with a submission period where nonprofits can send in a story of up to 500 words describing their impactful work. They are encouraged to include supporting images or short videos to illustrate their achievements and measurable outcomes, showing how they make a difference in their communities. Following the submission period, from April 27 to April 30, 2026, five finalists from each category will be announced and featured on the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation’s social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, and X, formerly known as Twitter. This gives the public an opportunity to engage with the finalists by liking their stories during a week-long public engagement period, the results of which will influence the final award selections.

The selection panel will consist of the Pulte Family members, who will choose the category winners as well as the overall recipient of the Inspired By Their Stories Award. The award is particularly significant as the overall winner will receive a substantial charitable contribution of $25,000, while the other three category winners will each receive $5,000.

Nancy Pulte Rickard, the President of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, highlighted the importance of storytelling in driving awareness and inspiring change. "Behind every meaningful mission is a story worth telling," she remarked. This reflects the foundation's commitment to not only recognizing but also elevating the crucial narratives that inspire hope and facilitate lasting change in society.

Nonprofits are reminded that the closing date for submissions is March 31, 2026. Interested organizations are encouraged to visit the Pulte Family Foundation’s official website to access detailed submission guidelines and confirm their eligibility. The culmination of this initiative will take place on May 16, 2026, when the final award recipients will be revealed, shining a spotlight on the remarkable contributions of nonprofits that serve society's most vulnerable individuals.
