Discovering the Magic of Fireflies at HANA・BIYORI

This summer, from May 23 to July 1, the renowned Yomiuriland is hosting the enchanting firefly viewing event called "Hotarubiyori" at their innovative flower park, HANA・BIYORI. This unique experience allows visitors to immerse themselves in the ethereal beauty of fireflies during the soft glow of early summer.

Event Details

Running for a total of 35 days, Hotarubiyori promises to delight guests with breathtaking views of the Genji fireflies, known for their vibrant green luminescence. These magical insects will be on display until mid-June, after which visitors can enjoy the gentle light of the Heike fireflies.

Visit Information:

• - Date: May 23 – July 1 (Excludes May 25-28 and June 11)
• - Time: From 19:40 to 20:30 on weekdays and extended to 21:00 on weekends.
• - Location: Firefly viewing area within HANA・BIYORI (outdoor area)
• - Tickets: Firefly viewing tickets (400 yen for elementary students and free for preschoolers) plus HANA・BIYORI admission (800 yen for middle school students and 500 yen for elementary students).

Visitors are encouraged to purchase firefly viewing tickets in advance, as ticket availability on the day of the event is limited and subject to weather conditions.

Educational Activities

During the event, guests can participate in a special educational program facilitated by the knowledgeable HANA・BIYORI staff. These workshops focus on the ecology of fireflies and provide insight into how to best appreciate their beauty.

Celebrate Tanabata

In addition to the firefly viewing experience, guests can engage in traditional Tanabata celebrations by writing their wishes on decorative strips of paper and hanging them in the designated area inside HANA・BIYORI. This adds a unique cultural layer to their visit, merging natural beauty with Japanese tradition.

Enhancing the experience are discounted set tickets available at the adjacent indoor play area for families, "Kidokido Yomiuriland." These tickets include priority entry for firefly viewing at HANA・BIYORI.
