Empowering Women Through Stress Relief Courses
In contemporary Japan, an overwhelming number of working women — about 81.1% — report experiencing significant stress due to job responsibilities. Moreover, even non-working mothers face high levels of daily stress, with 88.4% indicating they feel burdened. Responding to this mental health crisis,
the Japan Stress Leading Care Association (JSRA) has expanded its reach, launching two specialized courses designed for women's stress and maternity care, operational in
21 regions across the country starting July 1, 2025.
These new courses include the
Self-Stress Leading Care List Course and the
Maternity Pair Aroma Course, both delivered through online and in-person formats. The goal is to equip women with innovative strategies to live stress-free lives, fostering a sustainable, healthier lifestyle both at home and at work.
The Importance of Nationwide Expansion
The female therapists involved in these courses bring a wealth of experience, having provided care over the years. With newly acquired advanced qualifications, they are committed to supporting local communities, families, and workers as professional stress care providers. The rising rates of depression and anxiety disorders, coupled with alarming statistics — such as the fact that suicide remains the leading cause of death among pregnant and postpartum women — underscore the urgent need for effective mental health care in society today.
Recognizing this, JSRA has set out to embed stress care into local culture, facilitating the training and certification of therapists across Japan.
