The 2025 Happiness and Stayability Ranking for Shizuoka Prefecture
Daito Trust Construction Co., headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, has conducted one of the largest residential satisfaction surveys to date, compiling the results into the "2025 Happiness Ranking" and "2025 Stayability Ranking" for Shizuoka Prefecture. This survey covers the happiness levels and desirability of various cities, aiding in understanding factors that contribute to a satisfying living environment.
Key Points from the 2025 Happiness Ranking in Shizuoka
In the latest survey, Kikukawa City emerged as the top-ranking locality for happiness in 2025, climbing from the fifth position last year. In second place, Iwata City maintained its position for the second consecutive year. Following closely in third place is Nagaizumi Town in the Suruga District, which has excelled in categories reflecting residents' pride and overall satisfaction with living conditions.
It's noteworthy that the "Happiness Ranking" is calculated based on responses accumulated from 2021 to 2025. If a municipality has fewer than 50 respondents, readings from previous years, such as 2020 and, if necessary, 2019, are included to bolster the dataset. The scores are normalized to ensure an average score of 50 serves as the baseline. Variations in ranking may occur at decimal points, reflecting the nuanced differences among respondents’ feedback.
Insights from the 2025 Stayability Ranking in Shizuoka
For the second year running, Shimizu Town in the Suruga District topped the Stayability Ranking, signifying that a majority of its residents wish to remain in their community. Shizuoka's Aoi Ward advanced from third to second place this year, with Morimachi in the Shuchi District taking the third spot.
Similar to the happiness ranking, the "Stayability Ranking" combines five years of survey data (2021-2025), and if the required number of responses isn’t met, data only from 2020 may be considered. It’s essential to note that there are no available data for the year 2019 regarding this ranking.
