Experience the Essence of Provence with L'Occitane
L'Occitane, the brand celebrated for encapsulating the essence of the Southern French lifestyle, is collaborating with the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum in Tokyo for a unique exhibition titled "Renoir x Cézanne: Two Giants Who Launched Modern Art." This much-anticipated exhibition will run from May 29 to September 7, 2025, and will highlight the works of two artistic legends who were deeply inspired by the beauty and charm of Provence.
A Collaboration Rooted in Art
Renoir and Cézanne, both pivotal figures in Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, spent their formative years in the sun-drenched landscapes of Provence. Their friendship and artistic dialogue transformed the art world, leaving an indelible legacy that continues to inspire. Among the wonderful features of this exhibition will be the carefully curated scents from L'Occitane, designed to immerse visitors in an olfactory experience reminiscent of the vibrant Provençal atmosphere.
The Scents of Provence
L'Occitane will be showcasing two of its most beloved fragrances:
Rose and
Verbena. The
Centifolia Rose, harvested from local fields in Provence, embodies the freshness and purity of this historic region. L'Occitane's expert distillation process captures the exquisite essence of this flower in rose water, offering a clarity that reflects the tranquility of the Provençal landscape.
Conversely,
Verbena is a celebrated herb commonly associated with the summer charm of Provence. Its bright, citrus-like aroma is reminiscent of freshly picked leaves found in local markets. This gender-neutral fragrance has captured hearts worldwide, symbolizing the carefree summer days enjoyed in this picturesque region.
A Multi-Sensory Exhibition
During the exhibition's duration, visitors can purchase these fragrances at the museum's shop, Store 1894. By bringing home these scents, attendees can continue to experience the artistic and cultural richness of Provence long after their visit. L'Occitane’s fragrances not only evoke the ambiance of the exhibition but also encourage a deeper connection with the art and history that shaped this remarkable region.
