Kids SDGs Expo 2026: Celebrating Youth Empowerment

The Kids SDGs Expo 2026 is a landmark event aimed at inspiring elementary school students to engage with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Set to take place on February 8, 2026, at the Coconeri Hall in Nerima, Tokyo, this expo will serve as a platform for young minds to showcase their innovative ideas towards building a sustainable future.

Organized by Meiko Kids, a childcare service operated by Meiko Network Japan, the expo represents a culmination of the 'Kids SDGs' program, which encourages children to take personal ownership of their contributions to the SDGs. The initiative not only nurtures creativity but also instills a sense of responsibility in the youth regarding global challenges they will inherit.

Future-Proofing Through Education

The Kids SDGs initiative at Meiko Kids is designed to equip students with the skills they need to thrive in a world focused on sustainability. Children actively engage in learning activities related to economic, environmental, and social practices that adhere to the SDGs initiatives. Meiko Kids focuses on creating a nurturing environment where students can explore their passions and talents while fostering their 'dreams' along the way.

By merging education with hands-on experiences, students are guided to nurture their curiosity and independence, resulting in a holistic development approach. The expo is not just an event; it’s a reflection of the commitment to preparing the next generation to tackle real-world challenges.

Corporate Responsibility and Community Engagement

The initiative is supported by numerous sponsors, including Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and Nestlé Japan, under the guidance of Tokyo's Board of Education. This united effort emphasizes the importance of community involvement and corporate responsibility in fostering youth engagement with global issues.
