Domino's and NFPA Team Up for Fire Safety Campaign in 2026

In a remarkable initiative, Domino's Pizza Inc. and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) have once again joined forces to promote important fire safety messages. This partnership, now in its 19th year, aims to raise awareness and encourage safe practices during Fire Prevention Week, running from October 4 to October 10, 2026.

As part of this innovative campaign, customers who order from participating Domino's locations across the United States will have the chance to receive their pizza delivered alongside a fire engine. If a customer's smoke alarms are functioning correctly, the pizza will be complimentary. In cases where smoke alarms are found to be non-operational, local firefighters will step in to replace the batteries or directly install fully functioning smoke alarms, ensuring advanced protection against fire risks.

Maureen Pittenger, Domino's executive vice president and chief human resources officer, expressed pride in this ongoing collaboration, stating, "Fire safety is an important message, and for 19 years, Domino's stores have found a unique way to help bring it home." She further emphasized the goal of the program: to remind families that something as simple as working smoke alarms can indeed make a critical difference in saving lives.

This year, the message also emphasizes the theme, "Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower," reflecting the increasing risks associated with lithium-ion batteries commonly found in modern electronics. As our homes become filled with devices like smartphones and laptops, the importance of maintaining vigilant safety practices only grows. Lorraine Carli, NFPA's vice president of outreach and advocacy, highlighted that "fire continues to present real risks to the public, particularly at home, where the majority of U.S. home fire deaths happen." This partnership is fundamentally about empowering communities and sharing practical knowledge that can lead to life-saving actions.

To further assist families in promoting fire safety, participating Domino's locations will distribute flyers featuring crucial safety tips regarding lithium-ion batteries. NFPA provides several guidelines to reduce the risks associated with these batteries:

  • - Install smoke alarms on every level of the home, including the basement, in every bedroom, and outside each separate sleeping area.
  • - Test smoke alarms monthly by pushing the test button to ensure they are in working order.
  • - Replace smoke alarms when they reach 10 years of age or are not functioning correctly.

The NFPA, a global non-profit founded in 1896, focuses on minimizing fire hazards and educating the public through effective measures, including over 300 consensus codes and standards. Fire Prevention Week, officially sponsored by the NFPA since 1922, remains the longest-running public health and safety observance. Each year, the campaign aims to reinforce fire safety awareness among families nationwide.

For inquiries regarding this initiative, resources for fire safety can be accessed through both NFPA's website and Domino's Pizza's site. By teaming up, Domino's and NFPA are not just delivering pizzas; they are delivering peace of mind and safety tips straight to homes, proving that community engagement can make a significant impact on public safety.
