The Taiwan Trade Center (TAITRA), under the leadership of Chairman Huang Chih-Fang, is gearing up for a significant showcase at the upcoming JAPAN DIY HOMECENTER SHOW 2026, scheduled from August 27 to 29, 2026, at Makuhari Messe. This pavilion will represent Taiwan's top 49 companies specializing in DIY, tools, and construction materials across five key categories: home renovation and maintenance, hardware, home & living, safety & security, and construction materials. The event aims to highlight Taiwan’s cutting-edge products and technologies to the Japanese market.

Objectives of the Pavilion


The initiative to establish the Taiwan Pavilion is part of a broader effort led by the Bureau of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and TAITRA. This program, known as TEAM TAIWAN, facilitates Taiwan's participation in major international trade shows across Europe, the United States, and Japan. It seeks to strengthen the international recognition, competitiveness, and strategic resilience of Taiwanese enterprises.

Highlights at the Taiwan Pavilion


At the pavilion, visitors will find an impressive array of products and innovations from 49 Taiwanese companies. The focus will be on:
1. High-Precision Hand Tools and Professional Tools
Featuring automotive and industrial ratchet wrenches, high-durability pliers, precision screwdrivers, and electric winches, showcasing tools widely used in professional settings.
2. Functional Industrial and DIY Materials
Exhibiting advanced materials such as industrial and household adhesive tapes, mesh abrasives, cable ties, and various plastic and rubber parts that support DIY projects and manufacturing.
3. Innovative Home & Lifestyle Products
Presenting modular storage solutions, portable air conditioners, 3D paper crafts, and lightweight carts, designed to enhance everyday living in Japan.

The participating companies will include 19 focused on home renovations, 12 in home & living, 9 hardware producers, 6 safety & security firms, and 3 in plumbing and construction materials. The term “Made in Taiwan” (MIT) will resonate through the durable and innovative products on display, reflecting the high technical capabilities and extensive supply chain of Taiwanese manufacturers.

Engaging Event Programs


Throughout the exhibition, various programs will provide deeper insights into Taiwanese technology and product capabilities:
  • - ### Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony will feature guest actor Mokomichi Hayami, known for his passion for DIY. He will participate in discussions and lead a Q&A session related to DIY and manufacturing.
  • - ### Taiwan Networking Event
Following product presentations, a networking event will enable attendees to interact with exhibitors, fostering connections between Taiwanese companies and the Japanese market.
  • - ### Product Launch Presentations
Companies will take the stage to present their products, focusing on topics like ‘repair and assembly’ and ‘cutting and construction’ on separate days.
