Cobra Electronics Launches Cutting-Edge Marine Radios at ICAST 2025

Staying Connected Off the Coast: Cobra Electronics Debuts All-New Marine Radios at ICAST 2025

Cobra Electronics, renowned for over sixty years in the design of two-way radios, has unveiled its latest marine radio technology at the prestigious ICAST 2025 event, celebrated as the largest sportfishing trade show in the world. This year’s showcase features the new BlueBound line of VHF marine radios, meticulously engineered with reliability, safety, and durability tailored specifically for aquatic adventures.

The BlueBound Advantage

Designed with the needs of marine enthusiasts in mind, the BlueBound range comprises four distinct models: three handheld versions (150, 350, 650) and one fixed-mount model (1350). Each model blends user-friendly controls with rugged construction, making it suitable for a variety of marine environments. The handheld radios are built to withstand the elements, incorporating a waterproof design along with a Signature Orange Floating Core, ensuring that even if dropped in the water, they remain visible and retrievable. Notably, the 350 and 650 models feature a Float n' Flash function that activates a strobe light when in water, enhancing visibility during emergencies.

In an additional nod to functionality, all handheld devices allow users to select their transmit power and boast impressive battery life to maximize range and connectivity on the high seas.

For those desiring a more fixed solution on their vessels, the BlueBound 1350 stands out with advanced features including Class-D DSC, built-in GPS, and Rewind-Say-Again® voice replay. This model also ensures robust safety measures are in place, offering access to 12 weather channels, as well as watch modes for quick access to emergency channels 9 and 16.

Commitment to Innovation

Jonas Forsberg, CEO of Cedar Electronics, the parent company of Cobra Electronics, commented on the launch, stating, "The new Cobra BlueBound line is the next step in our journey to create long-lasting, reliable technology for users on the water - whether that's deep-sea fishing or tubing at the lake. We designed this line with those who love the open water in mind, ensuring they stay connected when it matters most - and there is no better place to introduce it than at ICAST."
