On October 19, 2025, the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Tokyo branch will host an engaging event known as 'Wakuwaku Kodomo Kichi: Discover the Job Experience!' at the JAF Central Training Center in Tama City, aimed at elementary school students and their parents. This event is a collaborative effort among six different companies, intended to provide children with valuable insights into various professions and connect them with the community.

Having garnered significant interest during its inaugural event in February 2025, which attracted nearly triple the number of applicants than expected, the second edition is set to accommodate even more young aspiring professionals. Responses from a prior survey revealed a remarkable average satisfaction rating of 4.68 out of 5 from participating parents, who expressed their enjoyment of both the content and the learning experience for their children. Positive feedback included comments such as, 'My child was very engaged and attentive,' and 'The accompanying adults found it educational as well.'

Engaging the Young Minds: A Three-Step Learning Experience

What sets this event apart is its structured three-step learning approach designed to deepen children's understanding of work while making it enjoyable.

1. Pre-Event Learning: Participants will receive a 'Learning Book' at home to research the companies they will visit, offering them a preview of what to expect.

2. Hands-On Experience: On the day of the event, children will choose three jobs from a selection of eight different experiences offered by six companies, allowing them to engage directly with various professions.

3. Reflection: Participants will conclude their day by completing a 'Reflection Sheet,' summarizing the insights they gained throughout their experiences.

The event will showcase experiences from six participating companies, allowing children to engage with a variety of roles:

• - Daihatsu Tokyo Sales Co.: Kids Sales Challenge to convey the allure of automobiles.
• - Tama Central Police Station: Fingerprint collection and caricature drawing experiences.
• - Tama Shinkin Bank: Hands-on activities representing the bank's operations.
• - JCOM Co.: Safety announcer experience that teaches effective communication in media.
• - YONEX Co.: Junior fitter experience focused on shoewear and expertise.
• - JAF Tokyo Branch: Experiences inducing insights into motorsport jobs and a mock road service scenario for kids.
