Fukuoka Startup Acceleration Program ISSIN 2026
CIC Japan, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, in collaboration with the Global Connect Fukuoka Network, is launching the Fukuoka Startup Acceleration Program ISSIN 2026. This initiative aims to support startups with exceptional technologies and ideas based in Fukuoka Prefecture, as well as those planning to venture into overseas markets. By providing hands-on support, the program aims to foster the growth of startups through funding from venture capitalists.
Application Overview
Applications for the program are now open with the following details:
- - Application Period: June 4, 2026 - June 26, 2026 (Deadline: June 26, 2026, 23:59 JST)
- - Information Session: An introductory session will be held on June 10, 2026, from 17:00 to 18:00. Details and registration link can be found here.
- - Selection Results Notification: Expected in early July 2026.
- - Eligibility:
- Must have a headquarters or branch office in Fukuoka Prefecture.
- Must be a startup established for less than ten years or aiming for a second venture.
- Should be oriented towards future exits such as IPOs or M&A.
- Must meet one of the following criteria:
- Startups with extraordinary technologies or ideas at Series A or below (targeting the domestic market).
- Startups at Series B or below with products or services aimed at overseas markets.
- Must participate in program events such as kick-offs, progress meetings, and demo days.
- Should not have been selected for the 2025 ISSIN program.
Support Offered
The program will provide several key support areas for selected startups:
1.
Business Plan Refinement
- Mentorship from the administration and external experts.
- Assistance in developing business strategies and identifying target markets.
2.
Funding Goals and Meetings with VCs
- Mentorship in capital strategies and business planning.
- Opportunities for introductions and online meetings with venture capitalists.
3.
Input Seminars
- Topics can include hiring, organizational structure, overseas expansion, and funding strategies.
4.
Support for Overseas Expansion (for selected startups that opt for it)
- Mentorship, input seminars, English pitch training, and support for overseas exhibitions.
5.
Networking Opportunities
- Events will be held for participants to foster feedback, discussion, and peer pressure through various gatherings such as the kick-off meeting and demo day.
