Vans Unveils the Premium Old Skool Music Collection

Vans, the renowned brand synonymous with skateboarding culture, has recently introduced an exciting new line: the Premium Old Skool Music Collection. This collection not only celebrates the influential history of the Old Skool silhouette but also its significant role within various music genres over the decades. The evolution of this iconic shoe is beautifully manifested in this new collection, which stands as a testament to cultural creativity and self-expression.

Originally launched in 1977 as Style 36, the Old Skool was the second skate shoe produced by Vans and marked the debut of the now-famous Sidestripe. Over the years, it has transcended its skateboarding roots to become a cultural mainstay within underground music movements, particularly punk and hip-hop scenes. Vans has recognized this deep-rooted connection by creating a collection consisting of three unique capsules that reflect the shoe's legacy across different musical eras.

Diverse Inspirations

The collection will see its first drop on February 6, showcasing designs inspired by the vibrant and rebellious punk culture of the '70s and '80s. This inaugural release features bold leopard prints alongside colorways that were notably favored by early punk and hardcore artists, embodying the spirit of non-conformity.

March 6 will herald the arrival of the Warped Tour-inspired capsule. Packed with classic Checkerboard patterns, vibrant two-toned designs, and flame prints, this segment of the collection is a nostalgic nod to the Y2K era. The collection will then culminate on April 10 with a release featuring dynamic color schemes paired with gum soles that pay tribute to the underground hip-hop scene, showcasing how the Old Skool has taken on new cultural significance.

Vans has not only revisited the classic designs but has also incorporated modern advancements into their premium build. The shoes feature enhanced cushioning thanks to the soft and removable Sola Foam ADC insoles, which provide all-day comfort—a crucial element for both skaters and music lovers alike. With this revamped silhouette, Vans emphasizes improved fit and seamless performance that aligns with consumer needs today.

Celebrating Cultural Trailblazers

To further enhance the launch, Vans has collaborated with a slew of dynamic artists and bands who embody the raw emotion and passion of their respective genres. Among them are The Paranoyds, Voice of Baceprot, Little Simz, and Hi-Tech, all of whom creatively contribute to contemporary cultural narratives through their music. By featuring these musicians, Vans aims to inspire individuals to embrace their unique identities and creative expressions,

The Premium Old Skool Music Collection is available for purchase at Vans retail locations and online at Vans.com, dropping monthly starting February 6. By intertwining their rich heritage with innovative design, Vans continues to drive the evolution of style, comfort, and cultural expression.
