Lemonade Expands Autonomous Car Insurance for Tesla FSD V14 Lite

In an exciting development for Tesla owners, Lemonade (NYSE: LMND) has expanded its Autonomous Car insurance to include support for Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) V14 Lite in select states. As of October 8, 2026, drivers in Arizona, Colorado, and Tennessee with hardware version three (HW3) and the newer FSD V14 Lite will be able to save 30% on their insurance premiums for every mile driven while the FSD is engaged. This is particularly advantageous for those operating earlier models of Tesla equipped with HW3, as they now gain access to advanced driving features that were previously limited to newer models.

FSD V14 Lite serves as a modified version of Tesla's v14 software, allowing it to work seamlessly with the older HW3 computers. By leveraging the sophistication of its latest software developments, this version enhances the car's ability to navigate complex driving scenarios effectively. Shai Wininger, President and Co-Founder of Lemonade, expressed his enthusiasm about this update, stating, "Tesla has achieved something remarkable by adapting its cutting-edge technology to benefit older models. We’re thrilled to offer support for this enhancement in three states today, with the anticipation of expanding further in the near future."

The integration of Lemonade's Autonomous Car insurance now means that Tesla owners can enjoy significant financial benefits while utilizing advanced driver-assist features. This collaboration utilizes Tesla's Fleet API, providing Lemonade with access to the necessary vehicle data (with a customer's consent) to differentiate between miles driven with FSD engaged and traditional driving. Thus, this offers a tailored pricing strategy.

Moreover, Tesla owners enrolled in this program can combine these savings with other Lemonade insurance products, such as renters or pet insurance, for even greater discounts. The opportunity for Tesla owners in these states to enroll is available online through Lemonade's dedicated portal at tesla.lemonade.com/fsd.

It’s essential to note that the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) feature requires continued driver supervision, as the system is not capable of fully autonomous operation. This limitation serves as a reminder to drivers that, despite the technological advancements, human oversight remains integral to vehicle operation.

The mission of Lemonade extends beyond providing affordable insurance; it aims to create a seamless and delightful user experience powered by technology. With a growing customer base of more than 3 million individuals throughout the United States, the UK, and Europe, Lemonade stands out in the insurance sector for its commitment to customer satisfaction and social impact initiatives. As a Certified B-Corp, its Giveback program has made substantial contributions to nonprofit organizations, donating over $12 million to various causes.

As electric vehicles continue to gain popularity and advanced features become commonplace, Lemonade’s initiative to adapt its insurance offerings to meet the needs of Tesla drivers indicates a promising direction for the insurance industry. By recognizing the evolving landscape of driver assistance technology, Lemonade sets a precedent for personalized insurance products tailored to contemporary automotive advancements. This move not only helps in making insurance more accessible but also positions Lemonade as a forward-thinking player in the technology-driven insurance market.
