Celebrating a 20-Year Journey: MG's Impact on Chinese Stationery Industry at BFA
From BFA to the Global Stage: Celebrating 20 Years of Shanghai MG Stationery Inc.
The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) 2026 annual conference kicked off on March 24 in Hainan, China, underscoring the theme "Creating a Shared Future: New Dynamics, New Opportunities, New Collaborations." Among the notable attendees was Shanghai MG Stationery Inc. (MG), a company that has been a trusted provider of office supplies for this forum for over 20 years, starting from 2005. MG has consistently delivered high-quality products, showcasing its commitment to professionalism and excellence. President Chen Huxiong highlighted the firm’s longstanding relationship with industry leaders and governmental figures from Asia and across the globe during this prestigious event.
This year, MG unveiled a new product collection developed in partnership with internationally acclaimed artist Florence Bamberger. This line, inspired by cosmic themes, features celestial designs across a wide array of products, including pens, notebooks, pencil cases, and backpacks. The premium stationery set showcases the craftsmanship and expertise that MG has to offer, allowing conference participants to experience the essence of a leading Chinese stationery brand.
In line with the forum's sustainability focus, MG introduced a series of low-carbon office products branded Eco+Office. These products, designed for workplace usage, incorporate recycled plastics to reduce emissions at the source. Emission data is meticulously calculated in accordance with international standards ISO 14067 and verified through a carbon footprint assessment across their entire lifecycle. Through these everyday office supplies, MG encourages more environmentally conscious choices.
Recognized as the first publicly traded company in the Chinese stationery sector to release an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) report, MG continually expands its sustainability initiatives. As part of its 2025 CDP program aimed at climate change mitigation, MG has received a "B" rating. Furthermore, the company has earned a spot in the SP Global Sustainability Yearbook for 2026, making it the only mainland Chinese company to achieve this distinction.
With over 30 years of experience in the office supplies industry, MG invests more than 100 million RMB annually in research and development, holding over 1,400 patents. Its products have won accolades at major international industrial design competitions. Notably, MG has been ranked in the "500 Most Valuable Brands of China" by World Brand Lab for eight consecutive years, with a brand value of 25.655 billion RMB.
From its roots at the BFA to markets around the world, MG's products are sold in over 100 countries and regions, supported by nearly 70,000 retail outlets across China. As MG continues to extend its international presence, it exemplifies a brand that blends tradition with innovation, sustainability, and excellence in stationery production.
