Exciting Double Photography Exhibition at COPYCENTER GALLERY Featuring Daisuke Tomizawa and Saya Sunada

Double Photography Exhibition at COPYCENTER GALLERY

From August 20 to August 26, 2025, the COPYCENTER GALLERY will host a remarkable simultaneous exhibition featuring the works of photographers Daisuke Tomizawa and Saya Sunada. Located in Tokyo's Itabashi Ward, the gallery promises a unique artistic experience that invites viewers to explore two distinct realms captured through the lenses of these talented artists.

Exhibition Overview

The exhibition will take place across two floors, with Daisuke Tomizawa's exhibition titled "Tuesday" on the first floor (1F) and Saya Sunada's exhibition named "Anesthesia" in the basement (B1F). Both exhibitions, while independent, draw inspiration from specific locations where each artist's work was created, creating a space where their worlds harmoniously converge.

Daisuke Tomizawa’s "Tuesday" (1F)

Daisuke Tomizawa, born in 1993 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, brings forth a collection of photographs based on his book "Tuesday." Rather than merely showcasing intentional or crafted perspectives, Tomizawa invites viewers to adopt a contemplative approach, akin to the gentle sounds of wind chimes blown by a breeze. His works challenge the audience to engage with the immediate world around them, urging a beautiful simplicity in observation.

Saya Sunada’s "Anesthesia" (B1F)

On the other hand, Saya Sunada, born in 2000 in Chiba, delves into the intersection of nature and memory in her exhibition "Anesthesia." Drawing from her photo book "-loci," Sunada investigates the spiritual essence that resides within plants and their ability to connect us with the past. Through her unique lens, she seeks to redefine the plant as an object of supernatural intrigue, creating works that could be perceived as a kind of spirit photography. Visitors will witness how flora can embody memories and ethereal connections that resonate through time.
