Celebrating Route 66 with Commemorative Stamps

In a remarkable celebration of American history, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is set to recognize the centennial of the iconic Route 66 by releasing a unique set of eight commemorative stamps. This significant event will take place at the National Postal Forum (NPF), a premiere trade show and educational venue for the mailing and shipping industries, scheduled for May 5, 2026, at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Event Highlights

The unveiling of the stamps will be a free event open to the public, held in the lobby of the convention center. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness first-hand the stamps' debut and celebrate a highway that has long been regarded as a symbol of freedom and adventure in America. The first-day-of-issue ceremony is expected to attract a great crowd, with no tickets required for entry.

Among the notable figures participating in the event will be Jeffery A. Adams, Vice President of Corporate Communications for USPS, alongside Rod Reid, Chairman of the United States Route 66 Centennial Commission, and David J. Schwartz, the photographer behind the stamps. Together, they will speak on the significance of Route 66 and the stories these stamps tell.
