Celebrating 10 Years of Empowerment at Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center

Celebrate a Decade of Change with PPRC

Introduction
On November 8, 2025, the Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center (PPRC) will host its anniversary gala, dubbed "A Decade of Possibilities," at the Embassy Suites in Independence, Ohio. Founded in 2015, PPRC has dedicated ten years to serving families in Cuyahoga County, focusing on improving maternal and infant health outcomes, especially for Black mothers and babies who face systemic challenges in healthcare.

Facing the Crisis
Despite the promise that pregnancy signifies, many Black mothers in Ohio face overwhelming obstacles. In 2023, Black infants accounted for 33% of all births in Cuyahoga County but tragically represented 59% of infant deaths. This stark contrast highlights the urgent need for targeted interventions. Recognizing this alarming disparity, PPRC was established to provide necessary support. In its first decade, PPRC has emerged as a beacon of hope for those affected by these inequities.

Significant Achievements
PPRC's impact is evident through its extensive programs that address every significant stage in a family's maternal journey. Here are a few accomplishments that showcase the organization's dedication:
  • - Support Services: Nearly 600 families receive essential items like diapers, wipes, and formula annually through community distributions.
  • - Transportation: The center provides around 400-500 rides each year for prenatal and postpartum appointments, ensuring families can access necessary medical care.
  • - Positive Birth Outcomes: Clients of PPRC have achieved an impressive nearly 80% full-term birth rate, reflecting improved maternal and infant health outcomes.
  • - Community Reach: Approximately 85% of PPRC's clients are Black women, and the programs are specifically designed to cater to their unique experiences and challenges.

Veranda Rodgers, PPRC's President and CEO, passionately states, "These numbers reflect transformation, not just in outcomes, but in confidence, connection, and community. For ten years, we've stood beside families through some of their most vulnerable moments. Together, we're building generational health that lasts."

Future Aspirations
As PPRC celebrates this significant milestone, it looks forward with a renewed mission and ambitious plans for the future. The upcoming gala aims not only to celebrate past achievements but also to raise funds necessary for evolving and expanding their programs. The goals for the next decade include enhancing maternal and child health services, broadening access to mental health care, and supplying essential resources to families throughout Cuyahoga County.
