In Satsuki Hibi's words, the exhibition delves into the contrasting distances between 'here' and 'there,' and the tangible and intangible. The act of exploring these distances serves to confirm her existence, utilizing painting as a medium to navigate the immeasurable distances and time between the realms of 'being.' This exploration captures the essence of perception and relationships, engaging audiences in a reflective dialogue about existence.

About Satsuki Hibi

Satsuki Hibi was born in Osaka in 1994 and graduated from Musashino Art University with a specialization in oil painting in 2017. Her work primarily focuses on the metamorphosis of plants while examining the boundaries between 'self' and 'the other.' Hibi's paintings explore the traces of existence and the nuances in relationships as shaped by the passage of time and changes in light.

Her notable exhibitions include 'Toke Yuku' at Art Room Planning in Tokyo (2024) and 'Sore Kara' at GALLERY b. TOKYO (2023). Hibi's talent has been recognized with selections for the 'Idemitsu Art Award 2024' and the '35th Ueno no Mori Museum Grand Prize Exhibition.'

The Unique Space: Kaidanshitsu

Kaidanshitsu, a small but distinctive space approximately 30㎡ in size, opened just in 2024. Located a mere five-minute walk from Shibuya Station, it serves multiple purposes such as a venue for seminars and photography, while also acting as a relaxing space for office workers in the building.

Kaidanshitsu has quickly become a vibrant space, fostering creativity and interaction within the local community. The stairwell view of the room captures its unique architectural charm, making it a perfect location for artistic expressions.
