Almaty Open Recognized with ATP's Prestigious Standards of Excellence Award

Almaty Open Receives ATP Standards of Excellence Award

The Kazakhstan Tennis Federation has proudly announced that the Almaty Open has been awarded the prestigious ATP Standards of Excellence Award by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), marking it as one of the leading tournaments in the ATP 250 category worldwide. This accolade signifies the tournament's commitment to providing extraordinary experiences for both players and fans, adhering closely to ATP’s global standards.

This achievement aligns with the announcement made at the ATP Awards Ceremony 2025, held in Turin, Italy, where the award was presented based on outstanding player ratings in organization, playing conditions, and quality of service. Only three tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region received this recognition this year: Dubai (ATP 500), Shanghai (ATP 1000), and Almaty (ATP 250). Notably, the Almaty Open remains the only ATP 250 event within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), emphasizing its unique role in the professional tennis calendar.

Yuri Polskiy, the chairman of the ATP 250 Almaty Open organizing committee and Vice President of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, expressed his excitement: "We are thrilled to have received such a prestigious accolade from the ATP for the first time. This success reflects our ongoing commitment to offering players and fans a top-tier sporting experience. The standards of the tournament are part of our president Bulat Utemuratov's long-term strategy, aiming to elevate the Almaty Open to ATP 500 status. Such advancement will attract further world-class tennis stars to Kazakhstan and foster the sport's popularity and development in the country."

The 2025 Almaty Open took place from October 11 to 19, with Daniil Medvedev clinching the men's singles title, alongside Théo Arribagé and Albano Olivetti winning the men's doubles. The tournament transformed Kazakhstan's largest city into a vibrant hub for sports and culture.

As one of the 27 ATP 250 tournaments on the ATP Tour, each event awards 250 ranking points to its champion and plays an essential role in the professional tennis ecosystem. This recognition from the ATP represents a significant milestone for Kazakhstan's growing presence in international tennis, showcasing the dedication of its organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and the enthusiastic support from fans.
