The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has made headlines with outstanding results in the first half of 2026, further solidifying its position as the leading financial hub of the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. As of the end of H1 2026, the DIFC welcomed 2,318 new active companies, bringing the total number of registered active companies to 10,018. This marks a staggering organic growth rate of 30% over the past twelve months. The number of regulated financial services firms now stands at 1,134, reflecting a 16% increase that further cements DIFC's reputation as the largest and most diverse financial services ecosystem operating at scale in the region.
These impressive results significantly contribute to Dubai's economic program, known as D33, which aims to position Dubai among the world's top four financial centers. In the first half of 2026, DIFC's innovation hub attracted 361 new startups, increasing the total to 1,933, which represents a 39% increase compared to the previous year. During this period, DIFC also reinforced its status as a regional capital for private wealth management, with family-related entities rising to 1,408 – a 36% year-on-year increase. Moreover, the number of established foundations has surged to 1,409, showcasing a 67% increase within the last year.
