Kia America's Record-Breaking November Sales Driven by Electric and Utility Vehicle Demand

Kia America Achieves Record Sales in November

Kia America has made headlines with its record-breaking sales in November 2024, posting an impressive total of 70,107 units sold. This marks a significant 20% increase from the previous year and symbolizes Kia's first time exceeding 70,000 units in November. The automotive giant attributed this success to the soaring demand for both electric vehicles (EVs) and utility vehicles, further cementing its position in the competitive automotive market.

Among the notable highlights of the month was the substantial performance of the popular Kia Telluride SUV, which played a pivotal role in achieving these remarkable sales numbers. Kia has reported that demand for its SUV and electric vehicle lineup surged, with sales increasing by 38% and 45%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Individual models like the Carnival MPV, EV6, Sportage, Telluride, and K4/Forte set new records with percentage growths of 45%, 46%, 28%, 31%, and 12%, respectively.

Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America, remarked, "Kia is a dynamic brand with world-class ICE and electric vehicles that exceed consumer expectations and have contributed significantly to our record sales in the fourth quarter. The Telluride has had an immeasurable impact on Kia since its launch in 2019, and reaching our best monthly sales ever in 2024 speaks volumes about its enduring appeal. Together with five all-new vehicles recently showcased at the Los Angeles Auto Show, we have no intention of slowing down."

In addition to these groundbreaking sales figures, Kia has made several announcements during the Los Angeles Auto Show 2024. The company revealed the latest iteration of the Kia Sportage, which is noted for its longevity and popularity. The 2026 Sportage is designed with today’s savvy and adventurous consumers in mind, offering three drivetrain variants: ICE, Turbo Hybrid (HEV), and Turbo Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), along with a range of robust and aesthetically appealing trims.

Kia further introduced the 2026 EV9 GT SUV and a significantly refreshed Kia EV6. The EV9 GT, boasting 501 horsepower through dual electric motors, aims to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, making it the most powerful three-row SUV that Kia has ever produced. The revamped EV6 features an updated front and rear design, premium interior touches, and new trim levels with additional features and amenities, reinforcing its leading position within the CUV and EV segments.

Kia also made its return to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, showcasing two concept vehicles: the EV9 ADVNTR CONCEPT and the PV5 WKNDR CONCEPT EV VAN. These concepts offer a glimpse into the future of Kia’s utilities, focusing on capability, adaptability, and organization.
