Celebration of Kagoshima's Rich Culture
Seven-Eleven Japan, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is celebrating its 15-year presence in Kagoshima with a special fair that will run from March 27 to April 9. This event will take place at 218 Seven-Eleven locations throughout the prefecture, introducing five special regional menu items that highlight Kagoshima's culinary heritage. In a spirit of community involvement, the company will donate 1% of sales from the featured items to local children's cafeterias.
Since opening its first store in Kagoshima in March 2011, Seven-Eleven has focused on providing services that are rooted in the community, strengthening ties with locals. In November 2011, they signed a comprehensive cooperative agreement with the Kagoshima Prefecture, which has allowed for various initiatives, such as the introduction of locally sourced products. The upcoming fair is a platform for expressing gratitude to residents while promoting Kagoshima's diverse food culture and stimulating regional revitalization.
Kagoshima Mirai Project
In light of the pressing issue of child poverty rates being higher than the national average in Kagoshima, Seven-Eleven is also actively addressing social challenges through the Kagoshima Mirai Project. This project, in collaboration with the Kagoshima Children's Cafeteria Support Center, aims to create a brighter future for children in the region. In August of this year, which marks one year since the initiation of the food drive program at select stores, they are considering providing children attending the cafeterias with customer service experiences at the store to deepen their understanding of the workforce and better prepare them for the future.
