Standex International Corporation's Strong Q4 FY2026 Financial Results Show Continued Growth and Innovation
Standex Reports Impressive Growth in Q4 FY2026
Standex International Corporation, listed under NYSE SXI, recently revealed its financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, which ended on June 30, 2026. The company reported net sales of $228.3 million, marking a 7.7% year-on-year organic growth. This increase was significantly driven by its Electronics segment, which recorded an impressive 12.9% organic growth. New product sales within this segment surged by a remarkable 43%, particularly benefiting from contributions in fast growth markets, which accounted for 31% of total sales.
In terms of financial performance, Standex reported a record order intake of about $270 million, achieving a book-to-bill ratio of 1.18, and an even higher 1.27 for the Electronics segment. The company’s GAAP earnings per share (EPS) for Q4 was $1.69, with a record adjusted EPS of $2.45, reflecting an increase of 7.4% year-on-year.
Yearly Overview
Analyzing the overall figures for fiscal year 2026, Standex experienced a year-on-year sales increase of over $100 million, translating to organic growth of 5.5%. The GAAP EPS rose to $8.68 while the record adjusted EPS reached $8.74, up by 9.6% compared to the previous fiscal year. Standex also set new records for its adjusted gross margin at 42.0% and adjusted operating income of $173.3 million. The adjusted operating margin reportedly stabilized at 19.4%.
According to the President and CEO, David Dunbar, the performance in Q4 was robust, driven by organic growth and substantial contributions from new product innovations. Moreover, the net leverage ratio has been trimmed down to 1.8x. In his statement, Dunbar reiterated the company's strong positioning for FY27, expecting high single-digit to low double-digit organic growth. The launch of more than 20 new products is anticipated, with fast growth market sales projected to surge by around 20% year-on-year.
Segment by Segment Analysis
Diving deeper into the segments, we see that Electronics accounted for 57% of total sales, contributing significantly to the company’s overall financial health. The Aerospace & Defense segment, which made up 17% of sales, also performed well, registering 18.3% year-on-year growth. The segment benefited from increased project activity in defense markets, showcasing another positive trend for Standex.
However, the Engraving and Hydraulics segment faced challenges, witnessing a 9.7% decline in revenue due to broader market weaknesses, which slightly affected the company’s overall performance in that area. Despite these fluctuations, both the Scientific and Engraving segments clocked revenue increases of 5.0% and 44.8% respectively in adjusted operating income.
Looking Ahead
As for future expectations, Standex anticipates a moderately higher revenue growth in Q1 FY2027, spurred by increased contributions from its fast growth end markets along with new product sales. However, the impact from the divestiture of Federal Industries may partially offset this growth. The company projects continued expansion in adjusted operating margins, as they invest more into their growth initiatives.
Standex's strategy appears focused on leveraging organic growth and reaping the benefits of previous investments in innovation and market expansion. The commitment to delivering higher profits through new product offerings and stability in their operations is setting a strong precedent as they move forward into FY2027.
They will hold a conference call on July 31, 2026, to discuss these results and provide additional insights into their strategic direction and opportunities for shareholders.
