SusHi Tech Global Growth Acceleration Program (Phase 2) Launch

In November of 2025, Tokyo will unveil a refreshed version of its startup strategy, titled Global Innovation Strategy 2.0 STARTUP & SCALEUP. This initiative places a strong emphasis on promoting growth for companies aiming for significant global expansion. Under this strategic vision, the SusHi Tech Global program will focus on providing support to startups that show promise for leveraging global opportunities.

Since its inception, the SusHi Tech Global Startups initiative has identified 77 companies that are actively engaged with industry leaders and specialists to address their unique challenges and drive their growth. With plans to bring together a pool of approximately 100 to 150 startups, the program is now launching its Growth Acceleration Program (Phase 2), specifically targeting startups that can expect rapid scaling through international expansion.

Overview of the Growth Acceleration Program

This program will accept proposals from existing SusHi Tech Global Startups for a maximum duration of 18 months, selecting up to 10 projects that demonstrate significant potential for global growth. Selected startups will receive customized supports, including financial backing of up to ¥200 million and tailored partnership assistance to achieve their scaling objectives.

Requirements for Proposed Projects:

• - The project must significantly contribute to global growth.
• - It should have a profound economic and social impact.
• - Proposals must showcase bold challenges that effectively utilize the funding provided by the Tokyo government.

Program Support Details:

1. Financial Support: Each selected project can receive a maximum of ¥200 million in funding.
2. Tailored Support: The program will also provide bespoke partnership assistance, customizing support menus to meet the unique needs of the selected startups. This may include:
- Alliances with overseas companies and local government entities.
- Financial support tailored to enhance global scaling opportunities.
- On-ground assistance leveraging the operational agency’s networks and expertise to support startups in their international ventures.
