In a groundbreaking collaboration, Sega has launched an exhilarating event titled the ‘Sakura Wars CUP’, merging the popular network-based Mahjong game series, Sega NET Mahjong ‘MJ’, with the iconic Sakura Wars series. Kicking off on August 25, 2025, this collaboration promises players a unique experience adorned with themed items inspired by the Sakura Wars franchise.

Overview of the Sakura Wars CUP

The event will take place in both the app version and the arcade version of MJ, featuring a competitive tournament where players can engage in two types of matches – East Wind Battle and Three-player Games. Competitors will aim to accumulate the highest total scores over the qualifying rounds to secure their positions in the finals. Players with notable performances in the qualifiers will have the chance to compete during the finals from September 8 to September 14, 2025.

Participants in the app version will have numerous opportunities to earn special collaboration items, including customized winning buttons and gaming environments that reflect the essence of Sakura Wars.

- Qualifier A: August 25 - August 31, 2025 (24-hour access, starting from 7:00 AM on August 25)
- Qualifier B: September 1 - September 7, 2025 (24-hour access, starting from 7:00 AM on September 1)
- Finals: September 8 - September 14, 2025 (24-hour access, starting from 7:00 AM on September 8)
