Huawei Unveils Upgraded Xinghe Intelligent Network



At the recent Huawei Network Summit 2026 in Johannesburg, the tech giant unveiled its new Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution tailored for Southern Africa, emphasizing Secure and Intelligent Connectivity. This move underlines Huawei’s ongoing commitment to facilitating intelligent transformation across various sectors in the region alongside local partners and clients.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into network architecture has become increasingly crucial as businesses transition to more AI-centric models. According to Leon Wang, President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, the shift from traditional broadband to AI-focused infrastructures requires networks to be built on key principles, including lossless computing capabilities, integration of sensing and communications for enhanced AI perception, comprehensive security against AI threats, and network autonomy for uninterrupted services.

Vincent Chen, Vice President of Enterprise Business in Southern Africa, remarked on the role of AI as a catalyst for global innovation, highlighting the shift in the Southern African market from experimental AI pilots to tangible, real-world applications. Shi Lei, Vice President of the NCE Data Communication Domain at Huawei, conveyed that in the past, AI-enabled operational management was typically accessible only to larger enterprises. Now, through a cloud service format, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can also leverage these sophisticated AI capabilities. This progression signifies a major step forward in tech inclusivity, making AI network services viable and actionable for a broader audience.

The summit also celebrated longstanding partnerships, with Huawei recognizing twelve esteemed customers for their contributions to shared successes within the data communication domain.
