2025 Osaka Expo: Celebrating Food and Agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan has announced its participation in the 2025 Osaka Kansai Expo, set to take place from June 5 to 16, 2025. The event promises to showcase the allure of Japan's culinary, agricultural, and marine resources. Cooperating with the National Tax Agency and the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Ministry will present an engaging booth and a series of stage events titled "RELAY THE FOOD – Connecting Future Food and Local Environments."

The exhibition will feature 18 thematic displays divided into three key areas:

• - Connecting Tradition: Highlighting food cultures and landscapes nurtured by generations of traditional farming and fishing practices through six thematic displays.
• - Connecting Diversity: Revisiting Japan's rich diversity in agricultural products and re-identifying its unique foods through seven thematic stands.
• - Connecting the Future: Illustrating the strengths and challenges of Japan's agriculture, forestry, and fisheries along with initiatives promoting sustainability, showcased through five thematic installations.

Engaging Stage Events

At the EXPO Messe "WASSE" Stage, visitors can partake in unique experiences such as tasting beef and tofu, as well as engaging in workshops like making coasters from igusa (rush grass) that children will enjoy.

At the Pop-up Stage West, plans include interactive demonstrations and culinary showcases that celebrate Japanese food culture.
