deleteC Operation 2025: Empowering Cancer Research Through Community Action
The deleteC Operation 2025 is set to launch in September 2025, aiming to unite citizens, corporations, and medical professionals across Japan in support of cancer research and public awareness initiatives. This campaign aligns with the national Cancer Control Month and aims to activate grassroots participation through what is termed Casual Social Action (CSA).
What is deleteC?
Founded in 2019 and recognized as a certified non-profit organization in 2022, deleteC is dedicated to creating environments where everyone can contribute to cancer research through everyday actions. The mission is to transform cancer treatment into a disease that can be cured through collective effort. By promoting a variety of accessible actions, deleteC encourages individuals from all walks of life to support cancer research initiatives.
A Month of Action: September 1-30, 2025
During this month-long event, over 40 organizations and corporations will collaborate to participate in various casual social actions designed to raise funds and awareness for cancer treatment research. These actions include:
1.
Post to Support: Participants can post on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, sharing moments related to cancer support. Each post that removes the letter 'C' from participating brand logos generates 100 yen, while reactions to these posts also contribute 10 yen.
2.
Shopping to Support: Numerous supermarkets across Japan will host a special initiative where a portion of the sales from selected products will be donated to cancer research.
3.
Walk for Support: Download the dedicated app and engage in a walking challenge. Each step contributes to the donation tally, creating a fun, competitive experience.
4.
Learn to Support: Workshops and educational sessions will be conducted in schools to foster awareness and knowledge about cancer.
5.
Eat to Support: A part of the meal costs at participating restaurants will also be allocated to cancer research, allowing supporters to contribute through dining.
6.
Engage to Support: Entry fees for commercial facilities and public baths will also go towards cancer research, inviting more people to join the cause.
7.
Tap to Support: The newly launched online store, 'deleteC Marche,' will allow participants to easily donate through purchases.
8.
Inform to Support: Advocating deleteC’s mission within communities helps spread the word and promote wider participation.
9.
Celebrate Autumn: Events connecting music, sports, and literature will encourage community involvement, with participation directly funding cancer initiatives.
