SIRUTASU Secures Funding to Build a Health Infrastructure via Consumer Data

SIRUTASU: Pioneering Health with Consumer Purchase Data

In a bold initiative to reshape healthcare through everyday shopping behavior, SIRUTASU Inc., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo and spearheaded by CEO Kazuki Ohara, has successfully raised funds from Nissin OilliO Group and existing shareholder Giftie. This investment is aimed at accelerating the development of a data-driven health management platform, which emphasizes the importance of proactive health management through daily purchases.

Addressing Rising Healthcare Costs

Japan is facing a significant increase in healthcare expenses, surpassing 45 trillion yen annually due to an aging population. This surge underscores an urgent need for preventive care. Existing health management services, such as health check-ups and health apps, often struggle to engage the average consumer, leaving a gap in encouraging consistent health behaviors. In response, SIRUTASU is developing a novel approach that leverages purchasing data to inform and encourage better health habits.

The SIRU+ Platform

SIRUTASU is introducing the SIRU+ healthcare platform, which utilizes data from consumer purchases in supermarkets to analyze dietary habits, nutritional conditions, and shopping behaviors. SIRU+ aims to provide personalized recommendations tailored to individual users.

Notably, SIRU+ goes beyond simple nutritional analysis; it also examines users' food preferences and purchasing tendencies. By analyzing purchasing behavior, SIRU+ suggests foods that users are more likely to buy. The platform employs AI to optimize suggestions with compelling comments and actionable recommendations. This data-driven approach allows for real-time verification of whether recommended items are actually purchased, enabling continuous refinement of its recommendation accuracy.

Currently, SIRUTASU boasts approximately 100,000 users, analyzing about 46 million purchase records monthly. On average, each user purchases around 90 different items per month, and roughly 10% of the recommended products are successfully bought.

By providing personalized dietary suggestions based on sound data, SIRUTASU aspires to create a sustainable preventive model that naturally encourages healthier shopping behaviors.

Goals for Fund Utilization

The funding will be pivotal in enhancing partnerships with Nissin OilliO and Giftie. Together, they aim to establish a sustainable behavior change model that supports the implementation of health infrastructure.

Collaboration with Nissin OilliO

As a leading plant oil manufacturer, Nissin OilliO is expanding into diverse markets, including elder care nutrition and cosmetic ingredients. By combining Nissin OilliO's nutritional expertise with SIRUTASU's analytical capabilities, they're pursuing a personalized approach to dietary recommendations based on individual nutritional needs.

Additionally, both companies will work jointly to explore supermarket collaborations to widen data acquisition, thereby creating an infrastructure to address community health challenges effectively.
