SAP Proposes Increased Dividend Payout for 2024
SAP SE, the renowned business software giant, has taken a significant step forward by proposing an increase in its dividend for the fiscal year 2024. The Supervisory and Executive Boards recommend that shareholders approve a dividend of
€2.35 per share, marking a
€0.15 increase or a
6.8% rise from last year's dividend of
€2.20. This proposed increase is a reflection of the company's robust financial performance and commitment to delivering value to its shareholders.
In the event that the shareholders approve this proposal at the upcoming Annual General Meeting scheduled for
May 13, 2025, and assuming the current level of treasury shares remains unchanged, SAP SE anticipates distributing close to
€2.741 billion in total dividends compared to
€2.565 billion in 2023. This distribution represents a pay-out ratio of
51.9%, a notable increase from the previous year's ratio of
43.0%.
The philosophy behind SAP's dividend strategy remains focused on ensuring shareholders are adequately rewarded from the profits generated by the company. The established dividend policy aims to distribute a minimum of
40% of the non-IFRS profit after tax derived from ongoing operations.
Key Dates for Dividend Payment
Several important dates are crucial for shareholders who are monitoring the dividend payment process:
- - Record Date: May 13, 2025
- - Ex-Dividend Date: May 14, 2025
- - Payment Date: May 16, 2025
For holders of
SAP American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), it is essential to note that one SAP ADR corresponds to one SAP SE share. The final dividend amount received by ADR holders will depend on the current euro/US dollar exchange rate. As SAP SE conducts cash dividend payments in euro, fluctuations in the exchange rate may impact the amounts transferred to ADR holders. The final payment from SAP SE to the depositary bank is scheduled for
May 16, 2025, at which point the deposited bank will convert the amount into U.S. dollars as swiftly as possible.
