Risen Energy and Ascania Energy Join Forces on Solar and Energy Storage Projects in Ukraine
Risen Energy and Ascania Energy's Strategic Partnership in Ukraine
In a significant move towards enhancing Ukraine's energy infrastructure, Risen Energy and Ascania Energy have entered into a collaborative agreement aimed at establishing solar energy facilities with a capacity of up to 100 MW along with energy storage systems capable of holding up to 200 MWh. The signing took place between Jerry Qin, President of Risen Energy for the European region, and Jewhen Piatko, CEO and co-owner of Ascania Energy, with notable presence from Jehor Jarmolenko, Ascania Energy's Chief Technology Officer.
This partnership is a direct response to Ukraine's increasing demand for new generation capacities, decentralization of energy infrastructure, and flexible solutions to enhance grid stability. Combining solar energy installations with energy storage systems provides a means to bolster distributed generation capabilities, facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources, manage energy consumption in real-time, and aid businesses in overcoming grid constraints.
Ascania Energy is deeply embedded within the Ukrainian energy value chain, handling everything from project execution and engineering to energy management, trading, and direct supply. With 30 years of business experience, Ascania Energy blends local execution capabilities with access to a diverse clientele, accelerating the adoption of renewable energy solutions.
Risen Energy, on the other hand, delivers solar modules, energy storage systems, inverters, and intelligent energy management solutions, benefiting from a comprehensive R&D framework and manufacturing potential. By the end of the second quarter of 2026, the company had surpassed a remarkable 121.4 GW in solar module deliveries and 10 GWh in energy storage systems, marking its presence in over 90 countries.
In Ukraine, Risen has already successfully supplied modules for 12 solar investments, including the notable Pokrowskaja solar plant with a capacity of 323 MW, which has equipped Risen with valuable experience in product adaptation, supply chain logistics, and local service support. This foundation is critical for large-scale, commercial, and industrial (C&I) applications that combine solar with energy storage worldwide.
On August 13, 2026, a delegation from Ascania Energy visited Risen Energy's smart manufacturing facility to gain insights into the company's manufacturing capabilities, testing protocols, and quality control measures for solar solutions and energy storage systems. Discussions focused on Risen's Hyper-ion Pro bifacial modules, designed for high power output, efficiency, and energy yield throughout their lifecycle, as well as the liquid-cooled eTron energy storage systems that integrate thermal management, multilayer protection, and smart control for large-scale applications.
Both companies are committed to advancing their collaboration further in areas such as project delivery, product localization, training for engineers, after-sales service, and building technical competencies. This synergy aims to combine Risen Energy’s technological expertise and supply capabilities with Ascania Energy’s local knowledge to effectively facilitate the implementation of photovoltaic and energy storage systems throughout Ukraine, contributing to a greener future and energy independence for the region.
