OnPoint Community Credit Union Welcomes Lisa White as CFO
OnPoint Community Credit Union has recently appointed Lisa White as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), aiming to further enhance the organization's financial strategy and stability. This appointment follows an extensive search, and White brings over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, making her a valuable addition to the executive team of the largest credit union in Oregon.
A New Chapter for OnPoint
OnPoint Community Credit Union, headquartered in Portland, Oregon, serves more than 633,000 members and manages an impressive $9.5 billion in assets. The announcement of White's appointment signals a commitment to strengthen its financial operations and support long-term growth for its members. Rob Stuart, the president and CEO of OnPoint, expressed confidence in White’s leadership, stating that her experience aligns perfectly with the credit union's values.
"Lisa brings the right combination of demonstrated financial leadership and alignment with OnPoint's values to the CFO role," said Stuart. He emphasized that her unique perspective would contribute to responsible growth while emphasizing service to members and communities.
White's Professional Journey
White's extensive career includes a significant tenure at Columbia Bank, where she worked for nearly 15 years in various senior finance and accounting leadership positions. Most recently, she held the title of executive vice president, principal accounting officer, and corporate controller. Her career began at Deloitte, where she served as an audit manager, and she is a certified public accountant, holding a master's degree in professional accountancy from Montana State University.
In addition to her professional achievements, White has a commendable history of community engagement. Since 2020, she has served as a board member, treasurer, and secretary for the nonprofit organization Girls on the Run of Greater Oregon, emphasizing her commitment to mentoring and supporting young girls by building confidence and skills through physical activity.
Transition and Future Plans
White's appointment comes as Jim Hunt, the previous CFO who significantly contributed to OnPoint's growth, retires after serving in the role since 2009. Hunt played a crucial role in overseeing the credit union's assets, which grew to nearly $10 billion during his tenure, as well as supporting strategic initiatives such as the expansion of in-store branches with Fred Meyer. He will remain with OnPoint until early April to ensure a smooth transition.
White expressed her enthusiasm for joining OnPoint, stating, "I'm excited to join OnPoint and be part of a credit union that prioritizes the financial well-being of its members in everything it does." She looks forward to collaborating with the executive team to enhance the financial strength and sustainable growth of the credit union.
