Angel Yeast Triumphs at the UIBC International Young Bakers Competition
In a remarkable display of talent and innovation, Angel Yeast, a leading name in the baking industry, led a talented Chinese team to victory at the 53rd UIBC International Young Bakers Competition held in São Paulo, Brazil from July 20th to 24th. The competition, recognized globally, featured bakers from eight different countries, showcasing their skills and creativity in a rigorous and prestigious environment.
A Commitment to Excellence
Angel Yeast played a pivotal role in the success of the Chinese team by providing continuous support throughout their preparation and participation in the event. The technical team offered professional fermentation technology, recipe optimization, and guidance on baking processes, ensuring the competitors were fully equipped to tackle the challenges ahead. Leng Jianxin, Vice General Manager of the Baking and Healthy Food Technology Center at Angel Yeast, not only led the team but also served as an on-site judge, offering invaluable oversight and coordination.
Coached by Liao Jinzhong, Deputy Director of the Applied Technology Research Institute at Angel's BHFTC, the team benefited significantly from his extensive experience and expertise. The crucial technical and logistical support provided by Angel's Latin America Division also ensured the Chinese participants were prepared for the competition’s demands.
Rigorous Challenges
Since its inception in 1971, the UIBC competition has adhered to strict rules, allowing only two participants under the age of 25 from each national team, looking to promote fairness and showcase young talent. This year’s event saw each team tasked with producing 140 baked goods across 13 different shapes, along with a showpiece, spanning five categories. The competition is not merely a test of baking skills but also a measure of stamina and creativity, truly challenging the young bakers.
Leng Jianxin noted, “This platform allows young bakers from different countries to display their skills while promoting international technical and cultural exchanges. It ignites a passion for the baking industry among the youth.”
The competition culminated in a stunning triumph for two young bakers from the Chinese team, Bao Jiaqian and Chen Jiaxuan, who had previously earned the gold medal at the 6th 'Angel Yeast Cup' National Young Bakers Creative Bread Contest. Their innovative creations, honed through months of rigorous preparation, earned them accolades for their craftsmanship, quality, and creativity.
Looking to the Future
Angel Yeast remains dedicated to fostering talent and furthering technological advancements within the global baking community. Their commitment to innovation and growth within the industry reflects a desire to elevate baking standards worldwide. As they look to the future, Angel Yeast plans to continue empowering the global baking industry through collaborative projects and technological advancements that inspire and nurture the skills of young bakers globally.
In conclusion, the achievements of the Chinese team at the UIBC competition stand as a testament to the vital role that organizations like Angel Yeast play in nurturing the next generation of bakers, blending tradition with innovation and inspiring a new wave of creativity in the world of baking.
