J:COM BUSINESS Cloud PBX Launch
Introduction
J:COM Co., based in Minato, Tokyo, is set to introduce its innovative cloud-based phone service, the 'J:COM BUSINESS Cloud PBX powered by Tobira Systems,' beginning November 30, 2026. This service aims to bolster the digital transformation of corporate communication environments for businesses. By adding Cloud PBX to the J:COM BUSINESS portfolio, the company aims to provide comprehensive communication solutions encompassing phones, mobiles, and PCs.
Background
In recent years, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have faced significant challenges, including labor shortages, diversification of work styles, and an urgent need for digital transformation (DX). According to the 2026 White Paper on Small and Medium Enterprises released by the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, the importance of utilizing digital technology for enhancing productivity and addressing labor shortages is emphasized. Local companies have also voiced their need for improved efficiency in communication tasks, including telephone services, due to these ongoing changes.
The Cloud PBX system allows for voice calls made and received from a company's fixed line number using smartphones and PCs. This flexibility supports remote work and streamlines communication practices. J:COM has been advocating the use of Cloud PBX as a solution to the challenges faced by local businesses, having partnered with Tobira Systems since 2025 to offer 'Tobira Phone Cloud' and sharing successful use cases through J:COM BUSINESS seminars.
By incorporating 'J:COM BUSINESS Cloud PBX' into its lineup, J:COM fortifies its support for improving corporate communication environments and facilitates an efficient phone operation aligned with diverse work practices.
Features of J:COM BUSINESS Cloud PBX
This new service is based on the Cloud PBX offering provided by Tobira Systems and is exclusively tailored for J:COM. It adopts KDDI lines and expands the areas where businesses can retain their fixed line numbers, including area codes that often pose challenges during installation. This means the service will be available across a wider national territory.
Moreover, it delivers a unified environment for managing and implementing communication infrastructure spanning phones, mobile devices, and PCs, leading to a reduction in administrative burdens and enhanced operational efficiency.
As a partner supporting DX progression and digital utilization for local enterprises, J:COM endeavors to contribute to sustainable growth and enhanced competitiveness through a localized sales and support structure and expanded services.
