Natus Medical's Suzhou Facility Opening: A Leap Forward in Neurodiagnostic Innovation for China

Natus Medical's Grand Opening of Suzhou Facility

Natus Medical Incorporated, recognized as the world's largest pure-play neurodiagnostic firm, made headlines with the grand opening of its state-of-the-art facility in Suzhou, China, on October 27, 2026. This momentous event marks a significant milestone in the company’s strategy to integrate local talent and manufacturing capabilities, enhancing their service to clinicians and patients throughout the region.

As the demand for advanced healthcare solutions rises in China, Natus aims to tailor its innovative neurodiagnostic products to meet local needs. During the celebration, Natus's CEO, Chris Landon, emphasized the company’s mission to improve health outcomes and broaden access to medical care across the globe, pointing out that China plays a pivotal role in this ambition.

This facility's opening is particularly noteworthy as it will support the production of the locally manufactured Nicolet EDX EMG system, marking it as the first product that has been produced and sold entirely within China. This product gained final approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on June 18, further solidifying Natus’s commitment to the region. The Nicolet EDX system offers comprehensive support for nerve conduction studies and various electromyography (EMG) assessments, essential for diagnosing neuromuscular conditions.

By situating manufacturing capabilities closer to healthcare providers and patients, Natus aspires to cultivate a more responsive approach to product development, ensuring that advancements in neurodiagnostics can be swiftly translated into practice. The Suzhou facility will not only enhance product quality but is anticipated to foster collaboration among various operational teams, including development, production, and customer support, all working together to create impactful healthcare solutions.

Walter Wang, General Manager of Natus China, shared insights on how this facility benefits the healthcare ecosystem: “China has always been a critical market for Natus, and our new capabilities in local manufacturing strengthen our long-standing relationships with top hospitals across the country.” This approach reflects a shift in healthcare procurement trends in China, prioritizing local manufacturing as both a quality assurance measure and economic strategy.

The inauguration also honored the contributions of various stakeholders, including government officials, distributor partners, and the Natus team, all unified in the goal of enhancing local medical capabilities. The collaboration is expected to yield a wealth of innovative insights that can inform better neurological care not just in China but globally.

Landon reiterated the vision of this investment: “By amalgamating our global expertise with the local talent and innovative spirit here in China, we are poised to serve more clinicians and empower more patients with the answers they need.” He proudly declared that this is just the beginning of Natus's commitment to advancing healthcare through localized innovation.

With this new facility, patients and clinicians in China can look forward to access to cutting-edge neurodiagnostic technologies made right at their doorstep, fostering a healthier future for countless individuals. As Natus continues to forge ahead with its mission, the local manufacturing capability in Suzhou stands as a testament to their dedication to both the local and global healthcare communities.
